    So I'm going through Tali's loyalty mission, going through the kitchen part of the ship.
    I've got my eye out for salvagable items as always and I pick up a case of refined palladium.

    And it hits me: "who in their right mind puts refined palladium in the fucking kitchen?!"

    Well, people make jewelry out of palladium. Maybe some fancy space-silverware is made of the stuff too, and Shepard just takes it and melts it down.


    Maybe a prospector just set it on a counter during breakfast before he met with his mining company's board of directors to prove that he had come across something.

    It's kind of contrived, but it's plausible.

    Maybe Shepard told Tali once what he likes to eat, the news spread and every Quarian kitchen has Palladium in store in case Shepard visits. It's like that extra plate deal in Christmas.
