Humanity is still a newcomer on the futuristic galactic stage, and it's up to the charismatic Commander Shepard to investigate the actions of a rogue agent while under threat from a dangerous synthetic race known as the Geth.
I'm playing through Mass Effect again at the moment and I'm I've just restored the VI on Noveria. Mira (the VI) comes up and says "It looks like you're trying to restore this facility. Would you like help?" and one of Shepard's responses is "Crap, a pop-up".

Technically he's an Office assistant. The computer term pop-up was coined with browser windows that would pop up when viewing web sites, usually with ads. I guess you could use the term popup any way you wanted, but with my 10 years of associating pop-up with browser windows, it's hard to forget.

NO ONE calls Sheppard wrong. He is a Spectre after all.
It's okay, I don't think of Clippy as a pop-up either. Pop-ups are website ads to me, and happen in browsers. Clippy is... uh... something else. But yes, Shepard, being a Spectre, would know better than me, and maybe the vernacular has changed between now and a few hundred years into the future.
What I thought was very hilarious was Kaidan's reference to extranet fetish sites. Indeed, lieutenant?
