    Space Opera meets Sci-Fi

You may know that Bioware made a fantastic game called Knights of the Old Republic, and the only reason you could've disliked that game is because you absolutely loathe the Star Wars universe.

Multiple endings based on your altruistic/complete dickhole ratings that persuaded you to play the game at least twice to see just how different situations can turn out.  You also had parties where you could have two team mates to roam around with you, like every other single Bioware game ever made in existence (okay, maybe just on consoles).

And that's about where the similarities end between the two.

This is Star Wars meets Star Trek. There's the plot that gets you emotionally involved, like the original Star Wars trilogy, and there's also an incredibly rich codex that explains all things scientific and organic within the game. There's even a neat sidebar next to planets that tell you everything you could possibly want to know about it. There's just such an attention to detail to everything, it's so easy to get lost in the world of Mass Effect.

I haven't even begun to write what this game is actually about, but i'm not even going to because I am a Bioware fanboy. With that said, you're probably asking "Well, why not 5 stars?"

Mass Effect 2. That's why. I can't give that game 5.5 or 6 stars, and I need to show a clear difference between the two. This game's filled with graphical pop ups, long elevator rides that are too plentiful and too static to be considered immersive, and there's also the inventory system that was in dire need of an overhaul.

Does that really demerit the .5? Yes. Only because of the sequel.

Despite some minor design flaws, it exceeds expectations. 0

When I first heard about Mass Effect, I was excited beyond belief. Bioware, known for their great role-playing experiences was nearly sure to deliver, and overall, they definitely did. Once you start the game, you get to make your character if you choose not to use the default (made famous by pre-release trailers). The character creation system allows you to decide on your character’s background story, which actually affects what other characters in the game say to you. You also get to customize...

      Mass Effect 0

The game Mass Effect is a third person, over the shoulder shooter that envelops you in a futuristic environment complete with advanced technology, alien races and plenty of drama. The game begins with the creation of your character. BioWare has done a complete job of allowing you as a player to be exactly who you want to be; Gender, personality, history, and of course cosmetic attributes all are able to be customized. After that you choose from 5 classes of character. Each one offering a complete...
