Massive Game with Effective Story Telling
So Mass Effect has arrived and I am delighted to say that the master of Western RPG's as well as story telling in games has just been declared.
This game is immense, immersive and impeccable in every way. Commander Shepard is that hero we have always wanted to be, whether you are a alien and human and synthetic and everything loving paragon or a shoot first and never ask question renegade Mass Effect is the game for you! (Even if you're the kinda good kinda bad Han Solo of video games).
Graphics: 2007 has had some good games and they sure had good graphics but Mass Effect takes the cake. Yes the texture can not be there at times but the attention to detail, especially in character creation just blows the mind.
Gameplay: Mass Effect takes a very unique approach to gameplay with it's own interpretation of the force as well as having an array of weapons for use in third person combat. It works pretty well for the most part, sniping is hard at first but upgrade it enough and it is heaven and being able to control your powers and you squads at the same time while shooting really lets the creativity flow. Vehicle combat is an acquired taste so it's hit and miss for you fans out there.
Content: This is a huge game. Easily 50+ hours of gameplay on a normal difficulty and on insanity 100+. Countless planets to explore, side mission to embark on and companions to talk to aboard your alliance ship, the Normandy. (Detecting a pattern here Bioware).
Story: Hands down one of the best story lines in gaming. Great characters, great plot and it does a great job making you car about the outcome. Just Awe inspiring. Story at it's best here folks, don't miss out.
In the end, Bioware's epic RPG Mass Effect has no trouble in snagging the pure gold 5 out of 5 from the Sci-Fi enthusiast.
