I still haven't played this game; not sure when I will, but I'll get around to it at some point. I was just wondering how people thought it sounded. Was it anything special or something not really noteworthy?
Max Payne 3
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released May 15, 2012
The long-awaited third Max Payne game finally arrived in May 2012, courtesy of Rockstar Vancouver. Eight years after the end of Max Payne 2, an aging, burnt-out Max finds one last chance to redeem himself while working as a bodyguard for a rich family in Brazil.
So how was the soundtrack?

I thought it was good.
@rolanthas: Totally agree with you. The terminal scene was amazing. So atmospheric and the Track Tears by Health had me on the edge of my couch. My heart was pounding, palms were sweaty. Max Payne 3 particularly that aforementioned level transported me into a space very few games have been able to do. Sound in games I think often is unappreciated, but Rockstar continues to set the bar high. Bravo!
i just wanted to say the OST is pretty awesome (listening to it now) but the in game soundtrack is amazing. i love how they blend certain music in at key moments. examples being the airport and when you first enter the favelas in brazil. even the club music has a certain authentic feel to it and makes you kind of feel like your really there.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but raves about how that whole scene plays out to that song. Then again, that song is basically fucking magic.
I honestly didn't think it was that noticeable or prominent while playing through the game. I did find myself enjoying the parts I did notice, however. The theme song is great, and as mentioned, the song playing while you run through the airport terminal at the end was really something else. It added a lot to that sequence to make it feel appropriately epic.
Just beat it today finally. The airport is fucking astounding, when tears comes on, it puts you in a groove that is basically unmatched in any other games..
As frustrating as the gunplay can be, with how fragile Max is, the atmosphere and sense of place is friggin amazing!!
What's the track that kicks in when
Because that was so awesome.
Damn good I thought, it's nice that finally we can hear Rockstar's talent for know what music will fit what scene can for a linear game. During the airport sequence and the football stadium especially
I've been listening to it the last few days - I think the synthy / downtempo tracks hold up well outside of the game.
My favorites are Shells, Torture, and of course Panama. Docks also reminded me a lot of Red Dead's score. Most of the tracks are drum heavy and designed to build tension during a shootout.

loved the soundtrack. apart from the part where tears came on, this was my favorite
this was an excellent piece for the Panama flashback. The visuals and this song in particular made it feel like something lifted out of Scarface.
