Im a big fan of the MGS series, and as such I was pretty excited to see Raiden get his propers as a playable character, and redeem his uber gayness from MGS2.
With that said, it seems like there's no action about this at all..
Im just wondering how this game is moving along... the e3 trailer was cool, and tech demo-y but seriously...
what about the story.. context, etc...
Hopefully this game isnt a total flop
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Game » consists of 27 releases. Released Feb 19, 2013
A fast-paced action game co-developed by PlatinumGames and Kojima Productions. It follows ninja-cyborg Raiden's activities four years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
Whats with the lack of info and news on this game?
Yeah, knowing how long it takes to make most Metal Gear games we probably won't see this until 2012 or 2013. So, they arn't going to be showing anything off for it until they begin to ramp up towards its release.
There's no news because... there's no news.
Might I suggest freezing yourself until E3 rolls around?
I checked the big book of release dates at my local GameStop and it's apparently scheduled for November 2nd of this year. I actually looked it up earlier this year, and at that time if I'm not mistaken it said it was coming out in June, so it got pushed back, I guess release dates can change all the time. But I seriously can't wait. I was a fan of Raiden even when everyone hated him in MGS2. He had proven himself by the end of that game. He may be androgynous, but he's a fucking badass, which is thoroughly confirmed in MGS4. I want to control this unstoppable killing machine.
I want to cut everything and everyone apart. The storyline of the MGS series is one of the few interesting and engaging game stories for me, and there was always such emphasis on the games as a narrative form. Yet, I don't really care about that right now. If it's as fun as it looked in that really brief trailer, then I'm all in. If the story is interesting like all the other games, then that will of course be awesome too.
come on, its a game which selling point so far has been slicing fruit from different angles. If thats the only core gameplay feature they are trying to sell us, that game will tank harder than the Titanic.
" @pornstorestiffi: Or it will be the greatest cooking simulator on the planet. "Never thought of it that way. Raiden Mama?
" come on, its a game which selling point so far has been slicing fruit from different angles. If nothing else, that aspect alone will appeal to the Postal crowd.

" I don't get what happened to this game. EB Games was taking preorders for it last summer saying it was coming out in January 2011. Is this just going to be absolute shit? How have they not released any news about in over half a year? "Because they don't want to release news it must mean the game is shit. Nice logic.
" @phish09 said:I never said it was going to be shit. I was asking if people thought that it was going to be. I'm obviously excited for the game otherwise why would I revive this topic which died over two months ago?" I don't get what happened to this game. "Because they don't want to release news it must mean the game is shit. Nice logic.A lot of games don't have any info until close to release and theres always somebody that says that, and it's just silly."
It's just that sometimes when a game is set to be released and then it gets pushed back indefinitely it's not usually because it was a good game and the developers just felt like holding off and sinking more money into it anyway. Sometimes truly great games end up getting delayed over and over again, but a lot of times those games that get delayed for periods of years often don't live up to expectations. (See: Too Human, GT5).
This is a bit A-Typical for Kojima Productions. Just look at the hype train the created in the run up to MGS4.
If I had to guess, I would say it has something to do with it being a 360 exclusive or multi-platform (I don't remember which it is, I checked out at MGS4). Games from Japanese developers that get hyped tend to almost always be PS3 exclusives because that's the major console in Japan.
