    Metal Gear Solid, released in 1998, is a game developed and published by Konami Corporation. The game follows recent retiree Solid Snake in his return to active duty as he attempts to rescue DARPA Chief Donald Anderson and President of ArmsTech Kenneth Baker, both taken hostage by a terrorist group, in order to prevent the terrorists from launching a nuclear warhead.

    Does anybody think Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl from the Watchmen) would make a pretty good Otacon? 


    I just watched the Watchmen for the first time since i had seen it in theaters and i think he could pull it off. 

    Thoughts?

    Yeah, he would be a pretty good Otacon I think. I can only imagine a more buff David Hayter Playing Snake though. I don't know why.

    Old Snake was actually based on another famous actor, Lee Van Cleef. But he passed away so your suggestion is still good. Another guy who can potentially pull off Old Snake is Sam Elliott.

    @Out_On_Bail: NP. What do you think about Viggo Mortensen and Solid Snake and Seas Bean as Liquid Snake?. Though they don't look like the charechter themsleves I think they will carry the characters spirit very well, plus the fact that I think they had great chemistry in The Fellowship of the RIng.

    I've had this discussion before. As you all know Snake was based off "Snake Plissken" from "Escape from New York". Played by Kurt Russel. But In my opinion, I think David Hayter himself could be a pretty good snake.

    At this point in time, I think Michael Biehn should play Old Snake. Considering it was him on the box for the original Metal Gear, I think it'd be fitting.

    Yeah, I still think they should buff up Hayter.

    The voice actors should be the characters. Just put some makeup on them.

    David Hayter's iconic voice could never be replaced, or if they want a new actor at least dub all the lines over with David Hayter's voice.

    OK, not entirely about the casting, but I would hope a Metal Gear movie wouldn't try to be all epic like MGS4 (at least not in the 1st movie) and would do something a lot more focused and down to Earth (for Metal Gear, it would still be pretty crazy in Hollywood terms) depnding on whether or not it would be a series or just one Metal Gear movie I would like it either to be based an origin story based on the original Metal Gear game (series), or based on MGS1 and be a pretty focused action/thriller (one off).
    In casting terms Sean Bean would be pretty good as Liquid Snake. Gary Oldman as Ocelot?
