A Good Game, but forgettable.
If you're a fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games you'll enjoy Metro 2033, while not as openworld as stalker, the game is heavily atmospheric and has some good visuals too. It may look nice and draw you in, but its far from a solid shooter(which doesnt bother me). Its a fun thrill ride through the deserted, dysmal world of a post-apocalyptic style Russia. Metro 2033 is a coridoor shooter at heart lacking in wide open encounters, and falling short of good controls which are unresponsive and feel weighted. While the story is what kept me going but if your not in it for the story it'll fall far short of your expectations. The game has very little replay value which makes its price a little unjustifiable, and a few missions are a little buggy. in the end it's a short coridoor crawl with an interesting story, decent shooting mechanics and great graphics. Forgettable, but fun.
Firstly-Graphics: the graphics in Metro 2033 are nice, pretty, and poorly fucking optimized, but hey what isn't nowadays. It is a beautiful game, and like every hooker I've payed, it makes your pc work for the thrills.
Secondly-Story: So you start off in a subway, and you go on to another subway... and yet another subway, then an open space, then a subway and finally a tower. Even with slipping into the darkworld shit it's still a coridoor shooter and personally that annoys me as it limits the story, but it still feels like a decent post apocalyptic tale.
Thirdly-Sound: Excellent 5/5 sound, scary when it needs to be, and very melancholic at times building the atmosphere.
Fourth-Gunplay: Eh... not so great, really really not so great, I'm used to the wonky gunplay of Stalker, but this is plain meh. It's decent by all means and the guns feel right, but there's simply a lack of options to the weapons and the money system is all fucked up. Still... decentish.
Fifth: So final verdict 3.5/5 decent game, solid story, alright gunplay, damn good graphics, but not all that good in the end.
