Is anyone interested in getting in an online MLB The Show 14 League for PS4 (and does anyone know if you can still play in the same league if you're using a PS3? If so, you can join, too!)

The game comes out May 6th, and I was curious if we can get some people in on this. I'm looking forward to just going with quick counts so the games don't last forever, and would prefer not to play with people who cheese the game. Just people who are interested in getting together for a full season (dynasty even, since saves will transfer to future MLB The Show games). If you're interested, hit me up.

Also, a couple friends and I have a website called Dude OMG! (http://dudeomg.com) that I'm thinking I could write up a quick weekly review, or have other people jump in if interested. Does the show have a fantasy draft for online leagues? I would assume that it would. If so I'd be down. I just can't fathom taking control of the Indians and being stuck with nick swisher for 4 more years

Awesome, so before the game is even out for PS4 yet, we've got 5 people interested. So here's what I'll do. When the game comes out, I'll look through the settings and everything to make sure we can all do this, and that a multi-person fantasy draft is able to happen. I know it's got simulated pitch counts, so that's an easy way to make the games go faster, so I was planning on using that. As for length of season, I don't know what the options are yet, but does anyone have a preference? Figure we'll just go middle of the road as far as difficulty; I believe it's dynamic, so it may adjust to our play though.

Also, planning to get a game a day in or simulate (depending on the length of the season we choose). Figure we can start some time that weekend (May 9th or 10th? or set up a schedule we could draft, if that's what we end up doing).Any questions/concerns?

I've never played a baseball game before but I've decided with the PS4 to get into it, and I already preordered it. When I'm not spending my time upgrading whatever dirtbag I create, I'd love to play with you guys!

Is there any preference on a draft? This would take forever to do, but I'm down for a few rounds if anyone's interested, or we can sim it, or we can just play with the existing teams. Doesn't matter to me.

What team does everyone plan on using? I may be using Indians, but I'm actually not partial to them, so if someone really wants to play as them, I'm fine with it.

That sounds good. I would actually prefer to sim the draft, as it sounds like a nightmare getting everyone in at the same time. But if people want to control it I would try and make time.

I would like to use the Twins, but we should probably stay out of each other's divisions so we don't have to worry about scheduling 18 games between users. If not the Twins I could also play as the A's or the Padres. Actually, now that I think about it there aren't many teams I would refuse to play as.

@grizmack: I completely agree with you re: trying to get a bunch of people together. So to keep things easy, I'll set a date and time for it, and if people want to show, they show, if not, it'll sim. I haven't followed baseball in several years, so I don't know who the hell many of these people are anyway! As far as playing people in our own divisions, as I want to get through the season (which is impossible even in Madden and NCAA with friends I've played for years!), I'm just going to advance once a day, max once every couple days. If people can't be around to play their game, it shouldn't be a big deal, but I just don't want the flow to bog down because of one or two (or more...?) people, you know?

Fair warning, I haven't turned my PS4 on in a few weeks, myself, but it'll come on probably Monday so I can pre-load the game, or if it's too large a download, I'll just go buy it. I'll be adding PSN IDs then, so if by chance anyone has added me yet, I'll definitely get to it.

That's a really good point to try to stay out of each others division. But are we over 6 Players already? If so we might be in trouble. So since no one has shown interest in the NL Central I'll lay claim to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Does the draft in the show work similar to the one in Madden where if people are present they can make picks but if not it auto drafts for them?

Just paid off my pre-order. So pumped for this idea. It is the first time I have pre-ordered a game since Gears of War 3

I've had a lot of experience with NBA 2K online leagues and none of them have ended that well but I'm always eager to get into one that works. I'm pretty sure I'm getting this game but I'm not sure I'll get it tomorrow, I haven't owned a baseball game since MVP 2005 so I want to see it in motion before I really bite since I don't actually follow baseball much anymore.

But if I like what I see I'd definitely be down to join a Giant Bomb league, especially if it's a fantasy draft. I'd like the Mariners unless you're trying to keep the divisions separated.

By the way, one of the designers for the game has apparently been streaming his franchise for a few days now. Pretty cool insight into the game and an unedited, unfiltered look at it.

MLB 14 Designer Twitch Stream

Thank you @nodima for the Twitch stream. Watched this for like a half hour now.

I'm picking up the game after work and will mess around with it, try to get a good feel for how a user-league dynasty will work. The draft will likely be set for something like Friday at 8 or 9, and if people can't be there, then it'll autodraft. Just gotta figure out how well it'll work.

As for the user/user games, if people want to stay in one division, I'm fine with that, but it's gonna be on you guys to play your own games. I'd like to advance relatively quickly, and I also don't want to get a bunch of cheesy trades and tanking and stuff that generally makes the games un-fun.

I'll send invites out Thursday or Friday and we'll get this thing rolling. If you haven't accepted by the time the draft takes place, just pick your team and roll with them. I, personally, know very little of current baseball players, so I'm going solely on nostalgia with the players I know, but still looking forward to playing this!

I'm considering buying this for my PS4. Anyone have any thoughts about it? I haven't played a baseball game since the late 90s on the N64.

I tried getting on the Online Franchise 5 times tonight and it looks like the servers are still trying to figure things out. It kept booting me off after like a two minute load time to get on their online servers. Will try again tomorrow.

I'll be setting this up this week. Things at work got crazy, so I had to put all my time there. I'll get it set up, though.

However, reading some other peoples' suggestions, maybe we should just have multiple leagues of 6 people (one person in each division) because it's gonna be a lot of missed connections trying to set up user games.

@ramtrap: Just wondering if this is happening. If you can't get it started I'd be happy to set it up and start inviting people.

Should we start taking down who wants to play as who so we can try to see if leagues can be set up with one player per division?
