people getting banned today... Are you one of them? Did you deserve it? 

if i was one of them, i wouldnt deserve it because my copy is legit and i never had the interest in hacking/cheating 
 
but since i threw the game somewhere in my room like, back in fucking December because it sucks so much dick, no i wasnt included

The controversy here is that some of the users were banned for no reason, at least I've heard. 2,500+ people is ridiculous.

From what I've played it was a laggy mess on PC anyway. Not that the console versions are much better >.>

I didn't get banned but I have to say as someone who plays the PC version of this game pretty regularly. Yo a lot of people cheat at that game

I'm glad that Valve is banning people who cheat on Steam. Valve says VAC makes no mistakes when it detects cheats. People who are whining about being banned are just annoyed that they got caught.

Time to revisit the game for a while.  
At least I will know there's more probability of garnering the 0-100 score the legitimate way.

From what I hear, many players are getting illegitimately banned. Not sure if that's true or not, but knowing Activision, I doubt they really care about the end user. As long as they get a good chunk of the cheaters, these players have already bought the game, so it probably doesn't concern them either way.

I will not be effected.

this is nothing compared to BNET bans with all the D2 botters and hackers.

So, um. It looks like a lot of the VAC bans were unfair after all. The bans seem to have been lifted and they've received a free copy of L4D2 for their troubles.

Two people I know got banned. They tell me they didn't deserve it. They're full of shit. 
The good news is that Valve takes that shit seriously, which in turn makes me respect the service that much more.

good, but i do think that infinity ward should also fix things to the consoles also. they should support their games. instead of laughing at us to the bank.

im not surprised. everyone claims that they were banned falsely and arent cheating so they just reverse the bans. this is why dedicated server systems are a must with pc games. at least then the online community has some control over the bullshit. and with dedicated servers communities can share ban lists of known hackers and cheats.
