Has anybody tried using the tactical knife with Marathon, Lightweight, and Commando?  I didn't think it was going to be that good, but I decided to try it, and damn..I was doing better then I was with guns. I went 43-20 using only the knife.

I smell some hate coming this way. People are going to start arguing about the "OP-ness" of various "builds" in an online competitive FPS.

Haven't played in a month or so now, but I used that build almost all the time. It's great and it pisses the kids off.

Yeah, I have a lot of fun with that class. You run even faster while holding Care Package/Sentry Gun canisters too, for some reason. That class doesn't work all that well on certain maps, I'd imagine, like on Waste Land.

oh man, MW2, i forgot it even exists... reached level 16 and just stopped.. too much =/ sorry no help from me. i might go through the campaign again soon.

Yeah I tried it. Even without tactical knife, the perk build is still absolute rapage. Tactical knife only makes it even more worthy to use.
 
Plus, the way you hold the pistol and knife is sick.

Yeah it's really good on the smaller maps

I enjoy this build. It isn't my favorite for non-hardcore team deathmatch because you lose stopping power, making your gun just that much more useless for any sort of range combat you might need to do. But it is definitely fun to use.
 
I also like to deck this build out with Throwing Knifes, just to add to the ridiculousness just a bit.

I went with that setup for the first time last night and went 21-2. So I'll be doing that again for sure.

i used the stabbin' build for a bit  it was pretty fun - but i still like to look down the sights of a FAL and drop someone with a bullet.

when you get your care package, equip the smoke grenade and you run twice as fast.

I have to admit I do this all the time, and it is really good. But the only way I feel that I can justify using it is by commemorating every kill with the title scum. If I do this cheap ass shit I feel like scum and I know people who I am doing it to, know I am scum. I really would like to play it the way its supposed to be played with assault rifles and pistols and such, but I know that you cant have a fun time unless you are being complete trailer trash scum like every other 9 year old in the game.

With this build and a care package in hand, it felt like I was speed hacking. I was in fact accused of it several times.

I love my knife running kit.  You know what I love more, though?  Whenever I see someone TRYING to run a knife kit...and they fail miserably...and then I knife the shit out of him repeatedly and make him rage-quit.

I was just in a game where a guy was using this. It's absolutely absurd. Pain in the but though when you're not on his team.

I don't understand people who get pissed off about knife running, I have respect for anyone that runs at me with a knife and kills me.

It's the only class I use. I play the game for a piss-take, so as soon I unlocked the Tactical Knife I was all over that Motherfucker.

yes, i've used it before. it can be fun sometimes when doing bad. another fun thing to do is to run with the care package smoke. u run faster, it is a very good thing to do when playing capture the flag and being flag runner.

I went 32 and 4 the other day using only a pistol and a knife. It was great fun. When you get a care package don't throw it, it makes you run what seems like 25% faster.

Yup. I use it all the damn time. It's fucking awesome to imagine the people's face after you stab there ass five or six times in a single match.

I get annoyed when people use it. I know MW2 isn't even close to a simulation or anything, but seeing dudes run around super fast and teleport into other people with a knife, killing them instantly, is kinda a joke. It's not going to stop me from playing, but it's frustrating. IW turned the knife into a powerful weapon, instead of when it was just a useful backup for those with quick reactions.
 
I think they should either get rid of commando or lightweight (though I do love commando pro). Just my opinion.

I'm cool with the tactical knife being used. Not too big on Commando, though, but it's not game breaking.
