Ok everyone is saying that modernwarefare 2 is going to be game of the year. Y???? its another fps that does nothing special and has nothing different from any other shooter. Please tell me y u people think its going to be good.

Seriously, COD4 was a great game, fantastic visuals and multiplayer. They are releasing a second one now. How can that now be good? All we can hope for is the story and characters are fleshed out more...Sure it has a FPS view and guns like every other shooter but it's got the multiplayer unlike any other that keeps people coming back for more.

sure there are lots of FPS out there but how many are actually good? there is no doubt that MW2 will be a wonderfully crafted an balanced game. Game of the year? maybe, but no doubt a great game.

Because it's likely going to be better than the previous iteration in the series, and that was my game of the year for 2007.

to answer your question, OP, FPSs happen to be my favorite type of games, i like to believe that i've played many and i tell you that COD MW has something very unique about it.. heck, the call of duty people have always had that special touch that you really feel when youre running and gunning and feeling for the characters and getting objectives and tasks done..  
 
a COD game isnt just a shoot-sons-of-bitches FPS game, its got more depth and style and its so fucking exciting like a bar of candy for a 8 year old kid.. to me gaming is alot about emotion and shit so its not that plain simple to explain. its going to be one unique few hours of gameplay, thats all i can say. 
 
I dont get why people are so obsessed about the COD multiplayer though..

I think that Modern Warfare 2 will be good because Infinity Ward has a good track record with these games. The last one was great fun to play whether you were alone in the campaign, or online playing mulitplayer. The visuals in the game were great, the audio was quality, it was just a very well rounded product. Who wouldn't want more of that but refined to be even better? I agree with reservation about it being Game of the Year. It may very well be, but the game is a fair way out yet so there is no way to know until we've all played it and compared it to other favorites titles to come out this year also. Buwe can rely it I think there is no doubt that you can rely on it to be a great game.
