Need for Speed Rivals will be released on November 19 on current generation consoles and "later this year" for next-gen systems. Details are slim right now, but it seems to be an open world driving game similar to Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

According to the Kotaku story the game will not require an online connection on the Xbox One, even though there will be added features in the single player if your console is connected to the internet.

That's pretty cool, but personally I would love to see a next gen Burnout.

I'd rather have Criterion make something completely different right now, but yeah A next-gen Burnout at 60 FPS would blow some minds.

It's coming to PS3, PS-One, and PS4! Cool. Why no PS2?

@falconer: They should have called it Need for speed Razor, as in Razor Callahan then it would be the only racer you'd ever need.

Yet another NFS developer? Man.

Sounds like they're following the template of 2010's Hot Pursuit, my favorite racing game of recent years. I could not be more happy about this news. Given DICE's pedigree for racing games with their Rallisport Challenge games they did for Microsoft back in the original Xbox days, and the general vehicular awesomeness of Battlefield, I'm confident in this new teams ability to deliver on this next iteration of Need for Speed. Especially with the collaboration with Criterion, it's hard to imagine that this one will go sideways. Bring it on!

Its still good the 5th time watching it.. Why does this teaser excite me more than the Forza 5 trailer?. I like that bridge and stuff in Forza 5 though..

The Forza 5 trailer didn't look like gameplay. Then again the EA Sports games or the new Remedy game didn't look like gameplay either. But if that's what actual next-gen games look like then whoa.
