    Need for Speed: Shift

    The first Need for Speed game developed by Slightly Mad Studios. "Shift" is an attempt at the simulation sub-genre of racing games, promising a sense of speed with new realistic effects and a new crash mechanic.

    Does anybody care about NFS: Shift?

    I doubt it'll keep my interest like Forza 3 will.  I had been planning on getting it at first, but when I think about the gameplay, eh.  I canceled my preorder for the 360 version and preordered it for PC, but I'll probably cancel that order too.

    I'm interested to see if they manage to do anything different than the norm, but if the critical response is tepid I definitely won't get it.

    I saw the Gamescom stage demo and it looked alright. We'll see if the change from the regular NFS furmola will do this game. Who knows it might inject some new blood into a franchise that was getting kinda stale. The one thing I can say that bothered me in that stage demo was the cockpit view. I don't understand why they would take the time and put an information dashboard in the cockpit view but will also put information states display on the game screen itself. It just made that view look very clottered.
