Since I beat Far Cry 3 I kind of lost interest in video games, it actually was one of the reasons I suspected I may have depression as thats one of the symptoms. It was kind of scary, I mean video games had been my life up to that point and to suddenly not give a toss about them really made me ask some hard questions.

For the entire of January all I was able to play was Ratchet and Clank: Q Force, that game is both a fantastic game and a terrible game, I got so addicted to that multiplayer it was crazy. I don't think I really enjoyed my time playing it unless I was winning, when I got into a game where I lost i was cursing out loud and chucking the controller against the wall. There became a point in that game where everybody who was playing it was playing it, all the causal folk left and now all that was left was the hardcore people. I made it on the leader boards, I was like the 20th best player in the entire world, that was something of an achievement. But I was not able to keep up with the player base and now I get crushed most games, I still am on the leader boards but I think I'm like in the 100's now. That game is a good game, the multiplayer especially is absolutely fantastic, but some matches go on for an hour, that is often an hour of you knowing your going to loose, which is a crappy feeling, one of the many reasons I will not let myself play it anymore.

So what now? I'm playing Ni No Kuni, my first proper game of 2013, I must say its an incredible game. I am about 8 hours in and I've just learnt how to capture familiars, which probably is not good because now I am going to have to capture them all! Fuck this game is gorgeous, I'm not joking when I say it's one of the best looking video games I have ever played, it just makes me wish that Level 5 are working on a Professor Layton game for the Wii U. It also gives me hope for the Pokemon franchise, this games concept's are very similar to Pokemon's and could easily be translated to the Pokemon universe. Ni No Kuni is a game I am always excited to play, I'm thinking about playing it right now, it's all I will think about tomorrow at work too, I'm also getting very close to buying that book...

Games are also on the horizon, I think Dead Space 3 comes soon as well as Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Rising. All games I am VERY eager to play, I hope you guys are too, but what are you playing right now?

Glad to hear you got your zest for gaming back!

I'd love to get a PS3 just for Ni No Kuni. Level 5 made my favourite game of all time after all

    <<<<<<<<<<<<< Monica says "Hi!"

And to answer your question, thanks to a lot of feedback, I'm trying to get through alpha protocol and lost odyssey (again).

Ni No Kuni is also no doubt the best game I've ever played. It has the enemy alert/scared system similar to Persona 3 where if to strong it runs or if about right level they chase after you. It than has the familiar system similar to Pokemon catching, evolving, putting on storage and not just that but there's 400 familiars in this game and bro I'm with you when I say I'm catch it all! Than the magic system oh my gosh, the magic system to be honest it's so much better than Final Fantasy magic system because you can use it even in non-battles. Than the boat,it's similar to Final Fantasy III boat when you travel by water. It's like Ni No Kuni is a combination of a bunch of games and than pounded into a game 10x better.

@Canteu: A lot of people are saying they will get a PS3 just for this game, I can see why, it captures the best bits about old and new RPG's alike.

@TohruAdachi: Boat, wow didn't know about that, how far are you, please say there is a fast travel option soon. I keep having to run between Ding Dong Del and to the desert.

I agree. Its a really fantastic game I can't quit playing it. I've gone to bed many nights recently no later than 5am. I simply can't quit. There's always something to do. I finally got my first set of level 3 familiars last night. Pretty pumped about that.

I'm kinda in and out of Antichamber and I played about an hour of Retrovirus. I had to boot up descent because of Retrovirus. Yep, they're similar in the best way possible. I've been tentatively eying Omerta, but haven't heard enough about it to really warrant buying it. I'm all about Revengance myself. I'm in a similar boat you were where I'm just feeling a little out of it. I'm still dabbling for sure, but it's not the same vigor it once was. Maybe I need to find my own Ni No Kuni to engross me again.

@Hizang:Actually I'm barely on the part where you get a boat to travel in the water, but there's a part when you have to go on a mountain and after you beat the boss they made a little portal to bring you back to the beginning of the mountain so I'm assuming they'll be doing that for every dungeon or w/e now. So yeah I'm not that far yet,I was hoping that storage next to the Save mark was a fast travel, was disappointed... At the same time satisfied though to found out there's 400 familiars. :) Also how so? Are you doing quests? I've never had to run between them before.

I haven't been able to recapture that gaming magic for quite some time now so am properly jealous of anyone that can. Hopefully Dead Space 3 will be good despite all the negative hoo-haw from everyone.

Hopefully but I'm skeptical about it... Dead Space 1/2 was much better in my opinion.

@TohruAdachi: You you mean you already played it and your opinion is that the first two were much better than the third - or are you simply speculating that the first two will end up being better than the third based on a hunch you have?

Go back to the tree guy often (the one in the beginning who gave you that stone dude and a few spells, and told you to fight the guardian of the forest). He gives some nice things.

Ya, I visited him after the volcano thing, and he gave me 3 of the revive things (I don't know why I just happened to forget all the names).

I assume that he gives better stuff later, but I'm too lazy to go :(
