Hey so I got a Switch at launch and just recently have been trying to connect it to the internet so I can play Mario Kart online (have not needed to connect since now since what else would I play online lol). My router is not that far from the switch but there are walls in between. My PS4 and Xbox and everything else connect fine, but the switch can barely stay connected to people and often has trouble downloading updates unless I move it into the same room as the router.

So my question is, does the Switch just have notoriously shitty connection or is there a fix that people have found? Thanks.

I haven't ran into any issues.

Maybe try hard-rebooting the Switch by pressing the power button and holding it for like 5-10 seconds.

I think I remember people talking about how they had issues on launch day until they did that.

Also make sure you have the latest firmware.

Last time I attempted to play MK8 Deluxe online, I was receiving a bunch of communication errors and disconnects. But that was over a week ago.

@noobsauceg7: Mine refuses to connect when docked, so I have to take it out of the dock, connect, and then put it back in the dock. Don't know if that's the issue you're having

Mine is a little wonky. Worldwide matches always load up fine without a hitch, but regional races give me a communication error about 20% of the time. It's weird.
