    So close to 4/5

*No story spoilers* *No deep gameplay spoilers*

If you like tactics games, tactical RPGs and the like you will enjoy this game. It's fairly simple in that regard though. No classes, no "jobs", no switching. You get around 12 to 15 characters that join your party and there is no perma-death. If someone "dies" they will be back after the fight for the next one. Characters level up, there is no stats to input manually and as far as I know every "+" is not random and is set. However, I did enjoy this game a lot. There are in-game cutscense, a few nice drawn images that play between chapters, the characters are pretty well fleshed out and sometimes funny. There are about 40 chapters or "battles" some are two-part battles but they never jump you into a fight without a full heal and letting you pick your characters for that fight. Up to 8 maximum. There is no friendly fire, A+ in my book. You don't have to worry about a spear stabbing your ally to hit the enemy and magic doesn't damage them either. You also can't heal the enemy with heals that go multile squares. Like I said it's fairly simple but it's still enjoyable if you like these types of games. There is also crafting that fits into the onimusha style of games. I never had to grind but I did go into an optional "side area" to fight and when you die you just get kicked back out to map with everything you gained as your treasure. The crafting is also simple "Press select" once they give you the tutorial! I either missed this or they never tell you and I went a few battles before I realized I didn't craft anything and had to google it! You can craft what you find and it seems some are always going to be found, other you need to find in the "optional area" which I did three time to get some "materials" to craft with and boost my team. There are a few of each type of fighter and they never split your party to make you fight with your "B-team" so don't worry if you have your favorites and just level them only. However I did try to level everyone evenly as some characters of the same class unlock different special abilities then their counterparts allowing you to experiment or find your "best for this situation" moves.

    Positive points

    • No grinding really needed or very little if you want an easier time.
    • Crafting.

    Negative points

    • Too simple?
    • No class changes.
    • No stat picking.
    • Auto-leveing.

Onimusha Tactics had a decent battle system, but no originality. 0

The game was really hard at first. I had the hardest difficulty fight in Chapter 9 : White Tiger Camp Conclusion. Once I got over that hump, the game just got way to simple and dumbed down. I just zoomed by the game after that. I would say it's about 15 hours long if you skip over the Phantom Realm. I spent atleast 5 hours in that getting recipes and stones. You don't visit towns, you don't talk to townspeople, you don't visit shops, no random encounters, once you leave a stage you can never r...
