Ive checked all connections, reseated the ram and tested the power supply. The real kicker is there is no beeps when i boot it, just a black screen. any ideas??

Does it come back up if you remove the ram you installed? Is the monitor plugged into the correct port?

No beep means it isn't posting. Try reseating the mobo, you might have moved it or disconnected some wire by accient.

Looks to me like your probably fried something in the board when touching it. Just buy a new one, no biggie.

Is mocking the lack of spellcheck flag in the thread title field the only thing you post? I've seen it multiple times today alone.

Good plan. Reseat all the connections and make sure the monitor is plugged into the video card instead of the mobo like I did when I upgraded my RAM :/

Bummer, duder. That's happened to me a few times but their RMA process is real fast and easy if you just want to exchange it for a replacement. I've never asked for a refund but I'd assume the procedure is just as painless.

Better than the last time this happened to me. I must not have put it in all the way or something but my computer just wouldnt boot, turned out my 2nd hard drive was fried due to my rushed install of the ram. My 13 year old self was devastated at all that anime I lost. I wish I had known at the time that I was really doing myself a favor.

Yea Newegg is great and I prefer Crucial memory myself. One of my 512 sticks went bad and I was able to RMA it within the year and get a new one no hastle.

when i added 2 more ram sticks to double the ram in my previous build (up to 4 gb) i had to put the new ones where the old ones were and put the old ones in the previously empty slots to get it to boot. none of the sticks are bad, but i guess there was something about one of the new sticks in the second slot pair...
