Why? I have a 550w Rosewill that has more than enough power. It's not about wattage anyways, it's about the rails.

You have to consider the future my friend, and yes the rails are also a factor...you have to figure that even with an efficiency rating @ 80% you are not getting the full 550W anyway. The More the better, he can get a 600W-650W Cooler Master PS for $75-$80 no problem on Newegg.

OCZ is a pretty good brand I think, although I use Antec myself. Rails, basically most people will be talking about Amps on the 12, 5 v rails mainly because they'll be doing the most work, esp for the GPU. The more you have, the better. You can also get PSUs that have multiple seperate 12, 5 v rails, that provide better and more consistent power under load.

In short though, do not skimp on the PSU, by a brand thats good, watts are nice, but amps are better :)

That ncix site is annoying, doesn't give you the specs you need for most of those PSU and you cant sort by price, anyway the "rail" or "rails" is/are the 6 pin connectors for your vid card, you need a rating of 30 amps for mine, but due to greater efficiency of newer parts you don't need as much for the 8800 even though its graphically a more powerful card.  Ive got a ultra V 500 w power supply thats just fine for 1 card, got mine real cheap from some dude, I think that they retail around 40-50 bucks US.

Reliable brands are Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling or Antec.

You would be much better off spending your money on lower watts and a good single 12V rail then on something 600W and cheap.  Anything over 500W would be overkill.

My suggestions are the Earthwatts 430W, the Corsair 450VX (my personal favourite).
