Persona 4 Arena is an Arc System Works-developed fighting game with an Atlus-developed story mode that serves as the official sequel to both Persona 3 and Persona 4.
Famitsu magazine has confirmed that Fuuka, main Persona 3 character, will appear in Persona 4 Arena as an announcer during battles and such. It says that she's now a university student, as well.
Given that it's Fuuka, she might have an important role in the story given that she's most likely a member of Mitsuru's "Shadow Hunters" organization. Hopefully her voice transformed as she got older.
It had been speculated before this that she would be a member of the cast because of these two images: The girl to the right of Mitsuru resembles Fuuka Portrait under Shadow Labrys has Fuuka's hairBecause of this, maybe the above image depicting the "Shadow Hunters" is more significant than not and might hint at other familiar characters that might appear in the game.
At some point, calling this Persona 4 Arena is almost a misnomer. I mean, I get that this entire game is fan-servicey, but I really don't understand the increasing prevalence of the P3 characters in this game other than the fact that so many people demanded it.
@Marokai: For one, it's obviously fan service, as you pointed out. So it increases sales, interest and all that. But, also, I think they wanted to finally bring together the Persona 3 and Persona 4 universes in a direct way. The stories obviously occur in the same worlds, so a fighting game and a direct sequel to Persona 4 (but not an actual Persona 5) was their chance to emphasize the fact that the P3 and P4 characters live in the same universe.

I hope she wears that ugly ass poncho at some point ... I actually liked fuuka she was MC's "love" interest don't know why so many people dislike her just like I don't understand how some people like Yukari when she was such a bitch (and I'm not talking about FES I haven't play that).
@AngelN7: I don't think the poncho was ugly, more like the way she wore it looked kinda strange on her. I didn't think Yukari was bitchy in P3 (However, in the Answer arc -_-).

I don't know while it was a game mechanic I thought the whole " you need to be popular to even talk to me , because I don't want people to get the wrong idea about 'us' " made her chracter look really bitch-y , and you're right the poncho wasn't ugly but it looked weird like it was floating arround her.

Huh, I don't remember that but most of my P3 play was in the PSP version as a girl so it didn't come off like that.

@metalsnakezero: In P3P when you're the girl she's nicer and all " we girls have to stick together, let's have a girl only talk so Junpei get out " when you're playing as the male MC she doesn't even talk to you unless you're popular , sure she has her character ark and gets better but still her being bitch-y doesn't have to do with her growing out she's just really bitch-y that's who she is, I don't hate her character but is not one of my favorites.

No, I think that's because of Persona 3's coloring, color tone or whatever (kind of like how the colors in P4 Golden are brighter than the original game). Her actual look is pretty much unchanged (except for being older and all). The hair does have a slightly lighter color, though.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. Do you mean the new promotional artwork? That's just drawn in a different(more boring and sterile, in my opinion) style.
The ingame portraits are identical, they're just showcased at a higher resolution. Anyway, that's besides the point...

I dunno man, the hair on this CG is a little lighter than in the portrait, but those eyes are still clearly brown/gray-ish.
You can obviously tell how the colors in P4 are intentionally hazy and blurry compared to the brighter and more colorful colors in P4G. This causes a slight change in Chie's hair color from the first pic to the second in that link.

Yep, that's a result of higher resolution. If you compare HQ versions of the official art, you'll find it looks closer to the Vita version than the PS2 version. What DOES seem to be intentional, though, is the color of the ingame stuff. There's a lot less drabness and muted colors in the Golden.

In retrospect, the P3 cast kind of sucks. Other than Junpei (who can be annoying at times too) most of them just don't seem that interesting. To me Junpei had the most clear cut story arc. I guess Ken also had one. But Fuuka? I can't tell you much about her other than she was the announcer and she wore some tickle belt...

Ah, didn't know that was a result of higher resolution. Still, that does mean that the colors are brighter, regardless of how it's achieved, so a similar effect would occur if P3 was also in a higher resolution compared to those original P3 Fuuka models that were posted above.
@mutha3: Then it's really light gray and definitely not brown; can't see any brown there at all. It might not be full on blue, but I do see it as light blue/light green. Looking again, Persona 4 Arena's Fuuka does have both her eye color and hair color changed to a brighter tone, so it's at least a bit different. Though the changes are so minor that I don't think they'd be noticeable without comparing both models side-to-side.
Cool the character that I least cared about is back!(or Ken I forget). This is a nice gesture for people that care about Fuuka, but she was never someone that I cared about in P3. Hopefully Yukari will be in P4A too. That's the only character that I really care about to make an appearance.
@mutha3: I just tried sampling the color from her eyes and though I don't get anything near the brownish color you're seeing from two different Fuuka pictures (the one I posted and the one in my profile of her summoning her Persona), I do get this:
Not light blue or light green, but definitely grey. I guess I was seeing it wrong all this time since I always saw her eyes as light blue (maybe because of the hair?). So I guess they changed her eye color for P4A more than I thought, though I can't say I noticed it.
Oh man... Well, I hope her english VA has gotten better. Playing P3: FES right now and she's alright in conversation i guess, but her delivery when she comments the battles is... Bad... :/
I thought this would happen, but even though her VA for P3FES was decent in my opinion, I also hope that her voice is better in P4Arena. If so, it looks like It'll be a tough decision to main either her, Teddie or Mitsuru as an announcer.
