This made me think of the endurance run, and Jeff and Vinny openly talked about cheating on these (which of course lead to people accusing them to cheating their way to the true ending). Such a pointless addition to the game, and all it did was 99% of the players had to google obscure questions. I mean, a weird question about some not-so-famous Japanese author, and the first link on google to the author's name is to a Persona FAQ?

@Cincaid:

Agreed!

Though, I have to say, learning stuff like Napoleon inventing canned food - but the actual containers being glass jars was pretty cool. That said, some of these questions are just unfair too (eg there is one which you have to identify some Japanese lettering of some form on July 20th - if I hadn't been playing that classroom bit earlier that day, I wouldn't have had a clue).

Sigh, also it ruins the flow, especially if interesting stuff is happening in the story / s-links. Still, it is set in a school so I guess it makes sense to have school-ey stuff happen.

P3 is even worse with this stuff, it seems like 90% of the class questions are Japan-specific, and it's practically impossible to max every S-link without NG+ if you don't follow a strict guide (in P4 I maxed everything on my own except Rise & Chie who were at 9). I hope in P5 they ask questions that are answerable just from paying attention to the teacher's dialogue beforehand.

Ah, I understand why "(the first one)" is one of the answers now. Also, thanks a lot for this, Charlie needs his intimacy.

Any self respecting history/social science teacher would not be caught dead using "B.C." for their timelines, even in Japan.

Atlus, I'm calling you out! You dun goofed.

@ZombiePie: The question was "What year came before 1 AD?"

@Bocam: I think his point is that most people would use "B.C.E" nowadays.

Couldn't the localizers have just thought up some non japanese specific questions for the english version that we might know? It couldn't be that hard to do that, and still have them not specific enough to be american questions. Like the stuff about the tallest mountain in the solar system and such were good.

So far on my playthrough I have yet to miss a question and I've only googled one; making lunches though, that one I've fucked up a couple times.

No comment, but just wanted to say great job. I'm already past the end of these questions myself, but it was a nice thing to do and will be extremely helpful to anyone needing it, so good job man! Good luck on your perfect run!

Cheers all!

Update:

I realised by missing the christmas I wanted, I could make something I tried very hard to do in the past, but gave up on - a (near) perfect Yoshitsune, probably the most OP persona in the game.

For those who don't know, Yoshitsune is the hardest hitting persona you can get, but the (in my opinion) best combination for it requires you to miss your Christmas celebrations.

For those interested, I'm including what I made below - there are many forms of Yoshitsune, but I went for the invincible one. It's much easier to do in P4: Golden as you, uno, can choose your inherited skills.

"Invincible" Yoshitsune - (wearing a Book Of The Void accessory bought from Tanaka near the end of the year / start of the new one, can't remember)

Yoshitsune, final build:

Hassoutobi | Absorb Wind

Power Charge | Absorb Fire

Debilitate | Null Ice (this is where the "near-perfect" comes from, a "perfect" block-all would be absorb ice, which you need Isis for, and since she requires max S-Link, I didn't have her yet)

Arms Master | Null Dark (you don't need any other form of dark protection, as things which cast dark generally don't die by it)

What this gives you

So you end up with a Yoshitsune with the wrecking-fools Hassoutobi (the highest damage attack in the game, though it is physical damage so some enemies are immune), Debilitate (the best debuff in the game) and he'll be immune to all forms of damage (except Almighty of course) and immune to the worst conditions via the Book of the Void accessory.

Debilitate is why you need to do this on Christmas, utilising the fusion forecast for that day: Make Yoshitsune, bonus skill Debilitate. In the end, it's an optional skill - but switching away from your invincible persona is always a risk on higher difficulties unless you have multiple, so IMO it's worth it (worth picking over other things such as Enduring Soul or Kali Dance - not necessarily missing your Christmas if you're an RPer : P , Yoshitsune is pretty badass no matter how you make him).

Note: To make this fusion on Christmas you'll also need to beat the dungeon on Christmas, you cannot do it earlier or you'll miss your chance - this may not be the case if your MC is intimate with someone though.

So, Fusion Ingredients:

Yoshitsune =Hachiman (lvl70 Hierophant) x Hitokoto-nushi (lvl41 Hermit) x Shiki-ouji (lvl56 Fool) x Okuninushi (lvl41 Emperor) x Masakado (lvl69 Tower)

I recommend only doing work on the last two. The rest can be found through shuffle-times or fused normally with no regard for what they have on them. <3 P4 Golden.

There are many, many ways of making these and you'll find that you're probably carrying valid ingredients with you anywho - assuming your personas are of the right levels. Just check your fusion search with Igor. If you want plain old recipes, use this graph and/or this walkthrough (both aren't perfect, but they're both good).

So, below you'll see how I made Hikotonusi (1) and Masakado (2) - I used these to inherit Arms Master, Absorb Wind, Absorb Fire, Null Ice and Null Dark

Hikotonusi (1)

Prep:

- Absorb Fire

Taowu lvl56 hanged, learned lvl62

- Null Ice

Orthrus lvl39 hanged, learned lvl45

- Null Dark

Uriel, lvl58 justice, learned lvl64

BUT

Orthrus + Taowu + Belphegor (lvl61 Devil) = Uriel

So I levelled the first two then fused them into Uriel (passing on Abs Fire and Null Ice), levelled Uriel, then:

Uriel (lvl64) + Nigi Mitama (lvl23 Temperance) = Hikotonusi (1)- This guy now has Absorb Fire, Null Ice and Null Dark taking care of most of your inheritance.

Masakado (2)

- Absorb Wind

Horus (lvl68 Sun, learned at lvl73)

Horus = Shiki-ouji (Fool lvl56) x Hell Biker (Hangedman lvl66) x Ganesha (Star lvl50)

- Arms Master

(learned by Masakado, lvl69 Tower, at lvl74)

Cybele (Lovers, lv. 68) + Kartikeya (Star, lv. 73) + Horus (Sun, lv. 75) = Masakado(2)

Anyway:

Since I was able to make that, I think I'll ditch the "perfect run" idea for another time - maybe next year. Instead I might do a 100% New Game+ using my sweet new Personas on Risky difficulty >_>

Because of that, I now have all of the answers for P4: G, and I have updated the first post.

Gracias. I completely spaced on that damned panda question and Google was totally unhelpful. Atlus sure knows how to frame these questions in such a way to make research difficult.

@INFINITE_CASH: No problems!

Having written it out, I find that I pretty much remember all of the answers - weird thing is, though, that I don't remember many of the useless facts they're attached to.

Thanks for posting all these answers! Really helped me achieve my Sage-level Knowledge(that and Expert Study Methods :) ).

Anyone got a list of all the quests in Golden? I assume most of them are the same but with a few new ones(took me a while to figure out how to get a damn fishing rod). I found a list here but it's not complete.
