Any E3 news on persona 5? Also which press conference would be talking about it? Sony? Thanks! Have not had time to watch all the streams but man would I love me some persona 5 news!

I mean, E3 hasn't started so maybe wait a day or 2? They said they were going to the show

Atlus are doing a stream (Japan focused) on the 15th (9PM JST), and I suspect a trailer might be released as the show opens.

The news was the western release date. I doubt we'll hear or see much more.

Persona isn't quite big enough to be on Sony's stage so you'll have to wait for actual E3 to start and for all these press conferences to end.

They already announced the US release date prior to E3, I don't see the point in having them featured or have any presence at E3.

This game looks so god damn gorgeous. The all out attacks, the UI for everything, the seamless transition from dungeon to battle, the camera movements. Just literally everything.

@adequatelyprepared: Really hoping you can stick them up for money. Demon negotiations is a returning feature I'm very excited about, they've always just been so fun for me. The randomness can get a little annoying, but seeing the different personalities is neat.

No dual language option just recently confirmed. This really bums me out.

sigh...so the team didn't decide to cover any of this in there stuff....sad....I know you don't want to feed the beast Jeff...and I understand (though man would you get sooo many subscriptions for a persona 5 run through with the same people as you did for four) I really do... but I would love to get your feelings on this stuff!

I know it's been said a million times, but goddamn does this game have all the style. I think Giant Bomb is going to have to retire that GOTY category after this game comes out.

I hope this game reminds the world that turn based JRPGs can still be great.

I think Sony should have had Persona 5 on stage instead of the 'tired' Final Fantasy content. JMO

Sadly, Sony did a very stripped down and economical show this year, with less 'talk' and more 'show'. Sony seemed to just want focused on just a few things and a game that is coming out next year is not a focus when ist doesn't even have an English Language trailer ready.

While I'm extremely sad this isn't coming out this year, at least in english, i'll be grabbing a japanese copy to soothe my soul.

I have to say, I think the new Velvet Room is pretty great thematically, and while they will never be Elizabeth, the twin constable attendants are intriguing.

Some new stuff that's been floating around:

Looks like four difficulty options in line with P4G minus the very hard, no idea if a harder difficulty is unlocked after beating the game but ideally P5 will be much better balanced than P4G.

Also the game was rated CERO C in Japan which is I guess somewhere between a T and M rating ESRB wise. More notably is that this the first original game in the series to receive a rating above B. My guess is that we'll see an M rating which is typical.

This cast has some pretty big shoes to fill after the stellar party we had in 4, but just as far as character designs go and what we've seen of their personalities, it's shaping up really well. Also the MC having just a bit more of a defined personality than the last two has me very interested to see how it plays into the story and whatever the social link system ends up being in this game.

What I'm hoping for is a reason to switch up the characters in the party instead of sticking to an "A team". It would make things easier if we could use everyone at once and just had to choose our 4 moves from all the party members each turn.

I pray they will make it so your inactive party members get xp even when you don't use them. I switched around my party all the time in P3 and P4, because I wanted to, but they definitely don't do much to incentivize it.

@zeik: Yeah, giving you exp share a-la Pokemon is one possible solution.

This is great but also has these two chuckleheads in the corner talking over the footage. Why haven't they just released this footage pure and unsullied??

I really hope they make Figma's of this cast. They look like they would make some really cool figures.
