Now that the game is coming out in Japan has anybody heard how different the PS3 and PS4 versions will be? Does the PS4 version play significantly better? I've looked around but can't seem to find any information about it.

I don't own a PS4 but I do have a PS3.

From the little I have heard about this I think it's almost just 720p vs 1080p. Maybe load times are also faster, but I don't know.

and would assume PS4 mandatory install would mean faster loads over the PS3 (assuming the ps3 version doesn't have a huge install too).

I heard somewhere that the PS4 version was 60FPS and the PS3 version was 30. No idea if it's true or not, though.

PS3 is 720/30 and PS4 is 1080/60, the frame rate info I saw on famitsu if I recall correctly

I would assume framerate, resolution, and load times are all better on PS4.

Also, looking at that screenshot, holy shit, that game is basically out in Japan. These next few months are gonna be rough :(

I might take the plunge on a PS4 if people start dumping theirs cheaply in anticipation of the Slim/Pro. But the differences doesn't seem big enough to warrant a new console.

Thanks for the info guys. Glad the PS3 version looks pretty good and not too much of a lesser version at all. I am not buying a PS4 just for Persona 5 and I've been holding onto my PS3 just for this game. So excited.

I highly doubt PS4 will have better loadtimes than PS3. That has never happened sofar.

Since the announcement of the PS4 Pro, I wonder what the differences will be between that and a regular ps4. Not so much between the 4k/1080p or HDR/no HDR, but they did show visual differences between a regular and pro ps4 running at 1080p. I personally hope it is not to substantial as I dont want to upgrade. I mean, even the thought of playing P5 in 4k HDR makes me want to go buy a new TV and preorder a Pro. Someone please take my wallet away from me...

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know if P5 will have any on-line features like P4: Golden did? Even if its something small, I'd like to know before the price of PS+ goes up.

Edit: I just got home and thought I should try something. As it turns out, P4 Golden does NOT require PS+ for its online features.

@bojackhorseman: I am incredibly thankful. Also makes sense in Japan since last I have seen the PS4 wasn't selling so well.

I'd say, if you still currently play games on your PS3 and the resolution and frame rate still doesn't negatively affect your experience, then I would just play it on PS3. Especially considering there isn't much else to look forward to playing on the PS4 - assuming you have a PC.

@bojackhorseman: It is pretty cool. If I remember correctly Persona 4 came out near the end of the PlayStation2 life cycle as well, although I don't think even that was as far into the next gen as this is.

Persona 4 came out in 2008, two years after the launch of the PS3 and three years after the launch of the 360.

PS4 ver at 60fps has not been confirmed.

If there's no ER, I will most likely play this on the PS3.

I've been planning on getting it on PS3 but I finally got a PS4 after Christmas so might as well get the PS4 version for better resolution and framerate.

I'd imagine a price difference as well.
