A photo of a booth with the Persona 5 logo was posted by Shane Bettenhausen, who works for Sony. This probably means that it will be shown at the PlayStation Experience. My body is ready, and I am slave.

Yeah, that was annoying. Got me all excited for absolutely nothing at all.

Well, I guess that means we don't have to wait 6 months for localization... woo...

@ghostytrickster: It's not even simultaneous if I heard it right. It's going to be coming to the US "after the Japanese release". Basically all they said is that it's not going to be on 360/One in the US or something crazy.

Yeah the announcement was literally "Oh Persona 5 is coming out in North America...at some point." AND NO FOOTAGE, EITHER. DISAPPOINTING.

I'm not that surprised they didn't show anything. Atlus rarely uses events like this to show off their games. But I definitely got my hopes up when Boyes mentioned it.

@nightriff: Bad wording on my part, I meant it being on a Microsoft platform would be crazy. It seemed like there was still some group of people expecting it to be there in the US, even if it isn't in Japan.

Also there is "another" teaser that was posted up today. I put another in quotes because it's the same one from last time but in english.

Wait! It comes out simultaneously? As in Europe and the US or Japan and the US, because if we get it at the same time as Japan, that's fucking awesome.

@afabs515: Nah. It's coming to the US shortly after the Japanese release (2015) and it's exclusive to the PS3 and PS4.

Any reminder that this is a real game that is coming out at some point is a reason to get excited in my book.

I haven't been following the Persona news because I want to come in fresh, but I have to know...are we getting a female protagonist? I need this.

Meh announcement, but still excited!

Persona 5's entire presence at this event feels like a relic of the past. Like, before internet was prevalent we may not have seen what was shown and revealed a few months ago in Japan, so showing that stuff to a US audience as if it were new would make more sense.

In 2014 though, it's pretty dumb to act as if anything they showed was new.

Something else might have been planned to be shown, but unavailable/removed at the last minute.

We'll probably never know, but I get the sense that this was a token showing just to a have some kind of presence. I have to imagine the full gameplay reveal has always been planned for a Japanese event.

@onlykris: The trailer shows a male protagonist. It hasn't been outright said but it doesn't look like P5 will have a female protagonist.
