From the IGN review of the Wiiware version:
 

  Now here's the problem: this really is the original game. It's a direct port of the Nintendo DS game, right down to the system resolution. It's, essentially, a DS emulation running on the Nintendo Wii, with only the basics of controller input changed. In other words, you're taking a game that's been made on 256x192 screens and blowing it up to twice the pixel density without changing the art. 

That's incredible. Didn't they do that with one of the Final Fantasy games recently too?

Looks like Capcom are directing their money and resources towards the other, bigger upcoming releases, eh?

Wait..is this the same treatment FF:Chrystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time got with it's Wii and DS version being essentially the same game?
 
Don't raise your pitchforks at Capcom just yet..atleast this game is a modest Wii-Ware release and not a full blown Wii game

That's pure laziness right there. Seriously, would it have cost them that much more to increase the resolution?

Yeah they could have done better, but at least they went with a background around DS screen shaped boxes instead of blowing it uo to fit whatever screen its on.

I read that someone mentioned they should have ported the PC version. Yeah, that's pretty slack. Wii problem with emulation maybe?

I was hoping for a Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney HD Remix.  I already own the first the games on DS so I say no thanks to this port.

well capcom said "everything we put on the wii sells like crap"
so seeing that I could see them thinking "it's not going to sell well anyways so why waste money on making better"

They fucked up.  They could have just as easily used the PC artwork and the original DS game logic.  They have total control over their own products and the PC artwork @ 480p is highly unlikely to have made the game impossibly large for digital download.

Really, anyone that's already played the DS game and is looking forward to more Ace Attorney should just wait for the new Miles Edgeworth game.

Totally lame, but not surprising.

Eh, it is only like $10 right? Can't expect the absolute best at that price I suppose for a port. I mean sure they could of taken the time and actually put some effort into putting it on the Wii but I guess they didn't feel like bothering with it. 
 
Either way I don't care, I am just glad it is on another console, means more people can play it now (though shame on anyone that doesn't own a DS imo >_>). Even if they had updated the art I still wouldn't be interested in it since I find the Ace Attorney games hard to play through multiple times. Still really good the first couple of times I beat each one though.
