The PlayStation 3 (often abbreviated PS3) is the third home video game console created and released by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
Do you buy Digital PS3 games at FULL PRICE!?!
@rafaelfc: Dear God man, that download! Think of the spaces!
I buy playstation plus games at full price and AC3 so far.
I bought Last of Us at full price and Bioshock Infinite. The latter may not count since it was part of a promotion that offered $10 back for every $50 spent on PSN.
i kinda think that its stupid that the digi games are just as expensive as physical discs , sure it could money to maintain the servers and what not but it still does if no one buys it and it has to be cheaper then giving a profit to the stores and production of covers and discs.
but i rarely buy digi games at full price due to ps+ and mostly due to the fact that if i import a game with day 1 delivery its still at least 30% cheaper then going to the store or full price on psn. and sometimes i get it before release day in Europe.
the only game i can remember doing it with was ni no kuni since i wanted that game right now and there were non in the store
Yeah, sometimes. If I can't make it to a gamestop. I'll go buy a psn card from a local store, and download the game from home.
Most the digital games (at least in the Uk i don't know about other regions) are usually £10 or sometimes more expensive than buying a retail copy of the game some games selling at £50-£60 when the usual price at a retail is usually about £30-£40 tops depending on the game for what you would call a new full priced game. I would love to buy digitally if the prices weren't so stupidly priced.
I can't believe they charge 50 and 60 pounds for games that are 30-35 everywhere else. You'd have to be insane or have too much money if you do in the UK.
Yes, when Injustice came out I was not in a position to pick up a retail copy for a few days so I bought it digitally.
Vita games, i buy them all the time but that is down to the fact that there ain't any store that stock them here.
The only one I ever bought at full price ($59.99) was Saints Row IV off PSN. I couldn't wait for a price drop, and the PSN does not charge tax.. here in Canada (Ontario) tax is 13%, so I saved $7.80. That's fairly substantial, so I think I will be buying mostly digitally in the future.. I never trade in my old games anyway.. sure the box is nice to have, but not worth the extra $7.80 to me.
That depends on a lot of factors - mostly on whether or not I'm certain I'll want to keep the game forever - or at least for the life of my console. I'm giving up my rights when I buy it digitally, so the game needs to be worth that sacrifice.
Everyone talks about how digital should be cheaper than physical because of shipping costs, production costs, how much of a cut the retailer gets, but I feel like those costs are fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The reason I think digital games should be cheaper than physical games is because when I have a physical game, I can do whatever I want with it. I can keep it forever, I can give it as a gift, I can trade it or sell it to a store, sell it to a friend, or light it on fire. I feel like the right to do what I want with the item I own is what I'm paying the extra money for , and when I buy a digital game, I'm giving up all of those rights and all of those options.
As stated above, the UK prices are stupid. So no. I might well do if they were more reasonable though.
Being more of a pc gamer for the last year, yes I do. I'm not buying any physical games on ps4 when i get one. That ticked off the gamestop rep for sure. haha
*raises hand* Another UK user here, and like all the others, I don't bother with digital games over physical.
I can either buy the physical version for £35-£40 or I can get the digital PSN/XBL version for £40-£60 depending on the game. If that's how they price games now I shudder to think what would happen if consoles did go down the road of being digital only. If we went a full console generation without being fucked like that maybe I might be able to get on board with digital games. Until that time though? Fuck digital.
Last game I bought full price was Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
rest of them on ebay or digital sales via PSN. and of course PSPlus ;)
Only game I bought at full price on PSN was Injustice although I didn't pay sales tax so it wasn't really full price.
Out of convenience, though I am a PS+ member and a lot of the games in my library are part of IGC.
But I have bought NCAA 13, Madden 13, NCAA 14, The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite digitally at full price (I think I had a PSN Card for NCAA/Madden 13). There's a good chance I'll get GTAV digitally as well.
If I am paying full price for a game where I can choose between a disc and a download I will always opt for the disc. I have never paid full price for a game that is also on a disc, but I have for many XBLA and PSN smaller releases.

Yup. My stance of "fuck stuff" carries strong. If I can get a game digitally that's the way I'm going. My once full of games bookcase is now down to maybe a shelf.
I'll pay full price if it's an older game I can't find locally or rarely as an impulse buy. I still enjoy getting a physical box and looking at artwork and a manual if there is one. Having done most of my gaming on PC the past year though I imagine I'll start buying more games digitally at full price on PS4 as I've gotten used to the convenience.
