I dont know which to get. I like the setting and RPG elements of Fallout 3 but Far Cry 2 has a cool setting, and the graphics are amazing. Which one?

Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2?
Oh shit, the first real question that actually makes me think.
I would say this: You're going to end up getting both eventually.
Get Far Cry 2 first. The multiplayer will be the most fun and popular when it's new. Get Fallout 3 when you seriously need something to play, and it'll be the perfect choice then.
Or get both when they come out!
Normally I hate it when people dodge a question by saying something along the lines of "Get Both!", but this is just one of the instances where I have to bite the bullet and do just that. These are the only two games that I've pre-ordered for this fall, and are by far the 2 that I am most hyped about. They both look to have great stories, setting and game play elements. Be it the fire mechanics or self-mending animations (can you beat watching your avatar re-set his broken arm?) in Far Cry 2, or the V.A.T.S. system and post-apocalyptic setting of Fallout 3, you can't go wrong either way. Sell a kidney, start a pyramid scheme, hell, start jacking cars, just find a way to get these two games.

If you can afford both then get both of them. If not, I would pick FO3 if you're really into story-driven games and if you loved Oblivion you'll likely love FO3. But if you prefer "real" shooters than I would definitely go with Far Cry 2...the game looks amazing to me and luckily I'll be able to get both. :)
I would've said Fallout 3 before tonight. But I just saw the demo (Yea, a bit late) and it looks absolutley horrible, seriously. The hand gun sounds like a toy gun, the graphics looked horrible (Well one consoles anyway), picking up guns, ammo etc looked awkward, it looks as thlough it's coped and pasted a few things from HL2 (Creatures). I don't know maybe I'm nit picking, Fallout 3 is mainly about the story so all my complaints all probaly going to be overshadowed by the one good thing.
I honestly can't see how it's a contest. If you do have to choose between the two games, Fallout 3 is the easy choice. In fact, unless you are still angry it's not an isometric turned based RPG I'm not sure what your problem with it could be.

Definitely should pick them both up eventually...but as a first just ask yourself whether you want another shooter with a good multiplayer on it first, or a huge single player RPG...I'm definitely getting both, I heard Farcry 2 also though, not only Fallout would take pretty long to beat..think I heard 50 hours of gameplay or something somewhere in the SP. Farcry 2 is definitely out of any shooting coming out this year the top to me, just with all it has to offer. I'd say ask yourself that though then get whichever kind of game you're looking forward to first...but eventually be sure to get the second as well...whatever your first choice here, the other is definitely also a must!

"I haven't seen any creatures like that in HL2, and I am not quite sure what you think a 10mm pistol is if not a toy. XD"i agree that pistol is pretty sweet and the other weapons also look very cool
"I'm going with FC2, Fallout 3 looks good, but i think its being marketed WAY TOO much for the 360 while FC2 atleast was shown quite a bit (including the trailers) for the PS3."I do believe that FO3 has been shown more often on the 360 (plus the exclusive DLC), but I don't think the PS3 version will be janked in any way.
"I would pick Far Cry 2 because I don't need to play the original to understand the storyline. I would've picked Fallout 3 instead but I haven't played Fallout 1 and 2."... you *do* know that the storyline is completely different and in no way related to Fallout 1 and 2, right?
"I would pick Far Cry 2 because I don't need to play the original to understand the storyline. I would've picked Fallout 3 instead but I haven't played Fallout 1 and 2."You don't have to play FO1/2 to understand anything in FO3. There is a huge chunk of gamers that are going to be picking up this franchise for the first time with Fallout 3, there's no reason you can't do the same thing.
I'm kinda boycotting Fallout 3 on PS3 because I have this horrible feeling that it's going to be a really shitty port.
