    Platform »

PlayStation Portable (PSP) is Sony's first entry into the handheld gaming market. The PSP also sports multimedia features including music and video playback, a photo viewer, and an online store. Several model revisions have been released: the PSP-2000, 3000, PSPgo and the PSP-E1000.

So, it's not long to Go now...

Have you pre-ordered a PSP Go? What made you take the leap?
I can't wait for that 16GB of storage personally. If my old PSP didn't die I probably wouldn't bother, though. It is ridiculously expensive.

I kind of want one, just 100 bucks cheaper... I'll wait 4 months when they only sell 367 copies world wide and decide it was a bad idea to make the PSPGO a higher price than the Wii and then they lower it.

If only it played avi files. I'll probably get an iPod Touch for this purpose and never use my PSP again.

Does anyone know if the Go's D-pad is better than the regular PSP's?
Odd question, but it may be the deciding factor between the two.

I heard everything was a lot more solid. Like on your regular psp you can kind of wiggle the D-pad back and forth, with the GO everything is in it's place and won't budge.

Sorry but, I'm still not sold on the PSP Go.  I think consumers are just fine getting a PSP Slim with a 16GB memory stick.

I know, but that's an extra step. I don't want to wait for a video to convert when I have to take a dump.

I couldn't get WinampRemote to work for my PSP either. It's supposed to do the transcoding in real-time and send it via wi-fi to your PSP. It used to work wonders on the 360 before MS added avi support.

I like to do things on the crapper other than just business. A privately owned business, I might ad... so I have no obligations to stockholders in case I wanna waste 20 minutes mucking about.

Waiting for a video to convert from avi to m4v (or whatever) takes too long, whereas a simple transfer takes virtually no time.

I have the feeling that if the price was more reasonable, most people looking to either upgrade or own a PSP would consider this over the 3000. I mean, we're also being conned through the Playstation Store I suppose with having to pay the flat RRP on games (no second-hand market, no price wars or deals etc.)
I really wouldn't be surprised if the price falls considerably a few months after release, which is unfortunate for me =( On the bright side, I suppose I have a free copy of GT PSP and £9 off my next Playstation Store purchases through crafty psn card purchases. It doesn't exactly make up for the huge price difference, though.

I'd love to get a PSPgo but for £30 you can buy a 16 gig memory stick duo off ebay and so the exact same thing with the normal PSP. Got a PSP Slim, think I'm going to stick with it for the near future.
