My opinion is that the statue and the resulting discussion around it raises the profile of the game for people who would otherwise be unaware of it. I think teenage boys, who predominantly rely on their parents income to buy games are likely to be the most aware of this, because when you're 16 a great big pair of tits on a plinth is kinda guaranteed to grab your attention... An adult market is more likely to make purchasing decisions based on accounts of the quality of the product, therefore I think this type of marketing is offensive because it is designed to generate purchases from a specific demographic based on their attitudes towards a gender rather than the overall quality of the product.
