Great article.

My opinion is that the statue and the resulting discussion around it raises the profile of the game for people who would otherwise be unaware of it. I think teenage boys, who predominantly rely on their parents income to buy games are likely to be the most aware of this, because when you're 16 a great big pair of tits on a plinth is kinda guaranteed to grab your attention... An adult market is more likely to make purchasing decisions based on accounts of the quality of the product, therefore I think this type of marketing is offensive because it is designed to generate purchases from a specific demographic based on their attitudes towards a gender rather than the overall quality of the product.

Regardless of how long it remains exclusive to the Wii U, securing a (relatively) large 3rd party franchise for launch is a pretty big deal. Really disappointing for Rayman fans on other platforms though, and considering the Rabbids line was almost exclusively Nintendo after the first game, there's no guarantee we'll see ports, although there is a difference between the two series.
