Double clicking on any GB-hosted video (as opposed to YouTube-hosted) does not maximize the video. The first click brings up the informational overlay on top of the video, and the second click is ignored.

The videos on what particular moves are punishable from each character were extremely helpful! I know I can go read the frame data, but just having a visual is very helpful, especially when there are spacings and other things like that to consider.

@pcorb: In the spirit of the thread, can you add spoiler tags to your post :)

I would hate for my whining about spoiling to cause yet more spoiling to occur.

Alright, I will soldier on.

I just watched the the first Rise episode of the Anime, and it seems pretty...rough. It sounds like they had someone playing the game and just pressed X after an appropriate amount of time after each character's line and drew some heads with moving jaws over the top. The game definitely seems like the better story-delivery vehicle.

I'm in Mid-June on my first playthrough of the game, and Rise has just shown up on the Midnight Channel. I went online to try to find some information about how Persona level and stats contribute to actual attack numbers, and the top Google result has some bozo talking about how he fights Adachi late in the game and thinks he didn't do anything wrong. I have no idea why someone would type that in a response about simple game mechanics, since presumably anyone asking such a basic question hasn't finished the game.

This seems like a very major spoiler, and now I notice him turning up during all the Investigation team's snooping around Rise and I'm just super bummed :(

My question is how deadly this spoiler is. I had so many theories flying around, and even though there is so much more to the game, my will to finish has been completely sapped.

Ideally this would be something I find out naturally not much further into the game, and I've only spoiled myself a month or two out. If so please tell me. But if I've just ruined the final plot point of the game and have to sit through another six months of the characters pursuing people I already know aren't the culprit, it's going to be really hard to keep going. I might just go watch the animation...

I played through MGS and MGS4 at the times of their release, but I decided earlier this year to buy the HD collection with the intent of playing through all the games sequentially to hopefully wrap my head around this insane story. I played through MG and MG2, but then paused to watch Metal Gear Scanlon instead of replaying MGS1 myself. Of course, this wound up falling to the backlog, and only over this Christmas vacation have I really had the time to dig in.

I just chain-watched all of Metal Gear Scanlon 1 and loved it! It was a perfect mix of nostalgia for the pieces that I did remember, surprises of the stuff I had forgotten, brand new Easter eggs, and fruststration/heartbreak/satisfaction/relief from Dan, Jason, and Drew.

But now the reckoning has come: do I watch Scanlon 2 or do I play the game for the first time myself? I don't think that I'll want to playthrough the whole game and then watch someone play, though maybe episode-by-episode play-then-watch or watch-then-play in chunks would be appealing. Experienced MGS2 GBers, what do you say?

EDIT: I just played through the Tanker chapter on my own. I think I'll both play and watch, and just make sure I never watch ahead of where I've gotten on my own. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
