Some tough breaks this episode! But Dan fought the good fight and now you have a battleship. And hey, if you really are at a loss for money you could always rent that thing out for rides to the neighborhood kids. Or sell all the Alloys and screw yourself over completely! Please don't.

Also, I know we are anti-human-experimentation now in light of the Abomination and how that turned out, but we all know a Robocop situation is an entirely different thing, and I'm pretty sure the soul still burns in a certain Heavy we lost this episode...

Keep fighting the good fight, we will be watching, etc.

Dark possibilty: what if this series is just Brad and Ben playing the first hour of each Kingdom Hearts game and trying hopelessly to figure out what the hell is going on

1. Goddamn, this game's style looks incredible.

2. If a person in charge of this game has a record of being directly shitty to other people (which I haven't seen evidence of yet), that's bad - and certainly a mark against my desire to buy it. I like to think I'd feel that way whether I agree with their specific opinions or not - although I know it's easy to be hypocritical in that regard.

3. This post, linked in an earlier comment, actually reads as remarkably thoughtful, and unless there is a bunch of other evidence to the contrary, this guy does not seem like a "Bad Person" at all, merely someone with a different perspective other than the generalized American version of the Left/Right culture clash. If the game is that thoughtful, I'm very interested to see what it's all about.

I can't help but think this game would be about 200% funnier without the swearing.

After all, the idea of a bored 12-year-old creating an entire world in his notebook based on things he thinks are rad is a neat idea that could be goofy, or weird, or endearing... but this game seems to take that idea and focus on the most abrasive aspects of it.

Don't get me started on the "gifs."

Jeff and Alex yell about the Fast and the Furious series the way Dan yells about candy.

It's great.

You know, I would have been willing to accept Dead Rising with some of the quirkier mechanics stripped out... if they had come up with new and interesting ideas to take their place.

This just looks like a game with half of the stuff missing.

We never should have told Vinny about the shield rod.

Granted, Konami never should have put the shield rod in the game.

And granted, the difficulty curve of this game would still be fucked without it.

And Vinny did choose to keep using it rather than try something different...

...Hmm.

I guess we've all made mistakes here, is what I'm saying.

THE UNIFICATION IS UPON US

I am fascinated, and yet...

A Nintendo console with no D-pad on the default controller??

We live in crazy times.

What is confusing about VR is that the press has had three years to get "over it" before the general public has even had a real chance to see it. So I have trouble knowing whether their disappointed feelings will effectively map to my own or not.

The "uneven, early adopter novelty/tech demo stuff" followed by more substantial experiences a year or so down the road seems like a totally normal path for a new and novel piece of technology... but the press has effectively already experienced a completely different release "path" than the general public.

I feel like I'm getting into a band on their major label release because the radio single sounds great and my friends are all talking about about how they already peaked on their underground EP two years ago.

And I'm like, "I don't know how to feel"

You know, the implicit promise behind the Endurance Run is that one day we would see a team get beaten by a game, break down, and go completely insane.

Today, that finally happened... and they just kept going.

I love this site so much.
