Williams and Haas join Ferrari and Mercedes by testing T wings on the cars, sort of makes sense considering how little rear wing there is. Every little bit counts.
Did a search and couldn't quite come up with anything related to this, just wondering if any other people out there have a parent that plays video games still?
My father is 54 years old and got into gaming around 2004 when Half Life 2 was released, after letting him play through it he was hooked and asked me to build him a decent rig to play more games like this. A year later he thought he would go ahead and open an internet cafe as a 'hobby business' on the side I guess, with about 10 decent gaming PC's, at first it was great. Use to hold lock ins on the last Friday of every month which predominantly consisted of 12 hours straight of Battlefield 1942 and Pizza. Couple of years later (Once everyone pretty much had decent internet here in Australia it died down and he was forced to close.
Since then he's pretty much kept up with latest gaming hardware every 2 years or so and playing through most FPS single player campaigns, any tower defence game he can find on steam and Battlefield and Call of Duty online multiplayer. The funny part is he is just 54 year old truck driver that doesn't trust 'the internet' getting his money so he'll give me a call to gift him games on steam and give me cash when ever I catch up with him.
Just wondering if anyone else out there that has parents/parent that still plays video games today? When ever I tell friends about this they find it really weird and I guess growing up with it, it's never really felt all that weird to me.
@angry-moose: I think that the shark fin works rather well on this new Renault.
Actually, you're right! It really sits in well with the livery. I guess it just works with some liveries and not with others.
I remember hating the look of it on the red bulls when they basically just used it as a billboard of some sorts with that giant Red Bull can sitting on the side of it and also the Ferrari when they use to rock the bar codes looked horrid. As much as I (and others) like so shit on ugly aero, I guess it's not really the looks that counts. Same goes with safety enhancements like the halo everyone has tested with... I don't think anyone would actually think that looks good lol.
Cool video about shark fins for anyone that is interested.
@angry-moose: well they are bankrolling their supposedly future driver but they aint interested in sponsoring the team in any way.
Also we have an Aston martin branded car running an Tag heuer branded Renault engine on the grid :)
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they own that advertising space on most of the car with the money they're putting in though. They might rather there be nothing there over other company logos all over it that may conflict with their own sponsors. Might explain why the sponsors on the car at the moment have such small logos.
It's hard to say what goes on behind close doors though, so much goes on in Formula 1 that no one will ever know about.
Anyway, I'm just hoping those ugly shark fins are not making a come back, I've never liked the look of them on Formula 1 cars but don't mind them on LMP1 cars. Weird.
You could sort of class work site radios as the boom boxes of today, only they're a hell of a lot easier to change the batteries now. Pull your cordless tools battery out and whack a new one in. Don't know what I'd do on site while working without one.
