I know the guys haven't played the original in a long time, but the amount of misinformation they seem to have latched on to is kind of off-putting when they talk about aspects of the game dismissively. Things like visiting a second reactor, the extent of how sinister/evil Shinra Corp. is, even the top of the video rant about Cloud's bolted pauldron - all of which were in the original game. On top of that, Brad seems to have missed some basic tutorial stuff right up front that kind of sours the whole video.
I'd encourage them to forget everything they know about the original - because a lot of it is misremembered anyway, and try to go in with fresh eyes.
@foreveralice: Dota 2 has larger prize pools but League has many, many more players due to its popularity in China. Dota 2 currently peaks around the 700-800k mark daily, League is over 8 million concurrent daily.
The gameshow is goofy and fun but good lord is DK64 brutally dull to watch. Less than two episodes in and I have to tap out of the series and just wait for highlights in a Best of GB video.
I love how much of an open mind Alex is coming in with. Mass Effect is such a special universe/series to me, but there are definitely silly things and shortcomings you sort of just have to accept at face value. It would be so easy to nitpick the games, especially ME1, to death. Being able to let those things slide to appreciate what it does right is the key to enjoying the games, and I'm really happy Alex seems like he is coming in wanting to invest and enjoy the ride.
@danryckert: I think it's *way* more likely that if Rousey were to debut and win the Rumble, she'd go after Charlotte. I think Asuka takes the title from Bliss at Mania.
