@tropesage: Yakuza 0 actually releases on Xbox next week (on the 26th, to be precise). Kiwami 1&2 will be releasing as ome time later this year. All of them will be available in Game Pass at launch.

They haven't said anything about any further games yet, but hopefully they do well enough and the rest of them are ported eventually.

I'm not even halfway through the video yet and I'm already expecting Vinny to just ragequit and fire up Blazing Chrome instead at any minute.

Someone really needs to show Dan (and Alex, for that matter) a set of maps showing European borders in, say, 1905, 1925, and 1945.

Quite a lot more happened at the end of WWII than just "hey, we beat Hitler, war's over now!".

Also, I echo the sentiment mentioned previously about wanting to see Dan try to wrap his head around CKII.

No need to fear Brad, they give you daily opportunities to get Powerful Engrams and the Flashpoint and everything reset every 4 days now. No more twiddling your thumbs if you want to keep playing, pretty much always something to work towards.

That's not actually how it works. Although to be fair, it's not explained anywhere in-game, and the explanation they gave in their weekly update on Thursday was... less than clear.

How it actually works is that the Flashpoint, Nightfall and weekly strike/crucible milestones (plus a new one for the heroic story missions, and I think one for Gambit, and maybe some other stuff) are still weekly as usual, resetting on Tuesdays, but that one additional challenge will pop up every day at reset, alternating between strikes, crucible, gambit, and a heroic adventure on the flashpoint planet, and those will stay available for up to four days if you don't complete them on the day they pop up.

The only problem is that none of this is actually explained in-game, and the daily challenges don't actually say when they're going to expire, so you can't prioritise the ones that need dealing with earlier. Bungie are apparently aware that this isn't ideal, so they're working on a solution. Unfortunately their idea of a solution is a calendar on their website, rather than just adding a line at the bottom of the tooltip for each challenge saying when it expires...

Watching this made me realize how lucky I was to have chosen a class with sniper skills when I played this. Looked frustrating as hell.

My favourite way to play ME1 was always Vanguard with sniper skills added via the unlocks you can get through the achievements. Lifting a geth half a mile away out of cover before sniping its head off just never got old.

At least not until I figured out that combining scram rails with explosive rounds turned the sniper rifle into a perfectly-accurate, hitscan rocket launcher.

As someone who absolutely loved the first Mass Effect (count me as another member of the "ME1 was the best game in the trilogy" club), and played the hell out of it (IIRC it released in November and I got the last achievement for 1000/1000 on the base game around New Years...) I can already tell that I'm going to be screaming at the screen for this one.

Also, I always forget that my preferred builds for the first game aren't actually an option on a first playthrough, as it relied on the extra ability unlocks that you get for new game+ (I usually went either Vanguard + sniper proficiency, or Infiltrator with one of the biotic powers).

Can't believe how bad the shooting gameplay is, no blindfire, no dynamic cover. What's the fucking point. Shocking to see so many people speak so highly of it in the comments. All I see is yet another middling C tier nothing shooter that will quickly be traded in a week post purchase.

There's a good reason why there's no blindfire or "dynamic cover" (whatever the hell you mean by that).

It's not a cover shooter.

The cover mechanics are barely there, because they're not intended to be a core gameplay mechanic. You're supposed to be cycling through your powers and constantly on the move.

I've just restarted on hard to play through the alternate story choices, and even in Act 1, without a full power set, an average firefight goes something like this (admittedly that's with fully-upgraded powers thanks to getting 100% completion in my first clear; but Jeff had all of the powers I used there fully-upgraded during the quicklook as well).

I'm gonna guess that's sanskrit written on his body, because I can't read it.

Yeah, it's almost certainly a buddhist sutra, written in sanskrit using Siddhaṃ.
