@ravelle: He's played a fool the entire game, then just towards the end realizes it. On top of that he's forced to let the woman he loved go without her even knowing his name. It can be a defense mechanism in that way. Being locked in a hole with your eye gouged out probably didn't help either. On top of THAT he's forced to have a "real job" while all he wants is to be Yakuza. I could be completely off, but that's how i justified it. Or at least how a read it.
The end is long, but i didn't feel it when i played. Think this might've went better as an endurance run? That watch scene made my eyes watery lol. I also played it exclusively and got really invested in the writing and character work so that was probably why. Can't wait for Kiwamii i'm planing on playing it along with you if i can wait haha.
R1+X is 100% better than blocking, it allows you to get behind an enemy (they can't block your mashing). There're some fights later on that are gonna rip you up, please don't blame the game. I'm not saying you gotta be god like, just pay attention or give up the controller. Dan's great, but watching him play games can be frustrating sometimes (even at GI).
