Gears 2 or LBP its a toss up between these two

"Gee, another "GoTY" thread. Original. Your picks are pretty bad, and the fact you threw GTA IV on the list is insulting to your credibility. I'm going to say Prince of Persia. Just to remark a bit on your list...

• LBP -- Fun, relaxing, but not ground-breaking.
• Gears 2 -- An incredible scope to the campaign and a revised multiplayer, but no major overhauls from the first title.
• GTA IV -- Overrated and boring.
• Fallout 3 -- Oblivion in a post-apocalyptic world, that is way too desolate. From what I hear, Mass Effect made everybody want "real" dialogue instead of just options.
• MGS 4 -- Not my kind of game. I played it and got bored. Not sure why, especially since I got the MGS4 PS3 bundle. Unfortunate, I guess. Did like the second one though.

The ps3 had a really good year this year
even though they had flops like resistane 2 haze and socom

they made it up with high quality titles like little big planet and valkrya chronicles

true their online isnt up to par with xbox live

but you get what you pay for and for being free it isnt too shabby

The simple truth though is that GeoW2 destroys R2 in every aspect

People who tried to compare an average game like R2 to an EPIC game like GeoW2 should be ashamed of thesmelves

I am sorry but anyone who believes Resistance 2 is even in the same league as Gears 2 is a complete retard

Resistance 2 is a mediocre shooter that offers nothing new to the genre when it comes to gameplay mechanics

its just as mediocre as the original

now 60 players can join into the borefest

towards the end of a skirmish game i could literally throw a grenade and get like 5 kills with it

the single player campaign is also weak

the leviathan boss fight sucked its basically like fighting a 300ft dummy with a scripted move set ie throwing hale into two buildings

the co op is a nice touch but it pales in comparison to horde mode

and gears 2 gameplay is alot more fun then resistance 2 mediocre and flat out generic gameplay

overall gears 2 is the vastly superior game in every aspects

and most critics agree considering that gears 2 has a 94% review ratio on gr whiel resistance 2 has an 89%
