The first one was/is my favorite ps3 game, so I'm kinda bummed they're changing it up for the second installment. I don't think they wanted Cole to have a lot of personality in the first game, probably so the game-playing audience could more identify with him in general and get into the "John Everyman" scenario. As a result, I think some of the 'snark' I'm hearing in the new VA's voice seems out of place, as will any personality changes to Cole's character.
So far I'm not into the ice powers either, just seems like a weird way to go (especially since water was severely damaging in the first game).
Cole could look younger because he actually is getting younger because of his regenerative capabilities.
