When I was in elementary school, I would watch On The Spot while my mom made dinner in the kitchen behind me. I would explain the video game things to her, and she would explain the older cultural references to me (how else would I have ever learned what Mama's Family was?). In high school, I made a friend after first connecting over our mutual love of GameSpot. We've now been close friends for over 15 years. At this point I'm older than Brad was when he started at Giant Bomb but y'all have been a constant in my life this whole time.
I don't ever really play video games anymore. I maybe put in a couple dozen hours per year on an indie puzzle game or two. But that's part of what makes you all so special to me. Whenever I've needed an escape from everything else, you have been there and given me so many laughs, distractions, feelings, and more.
And thank you all for changing and growing. Not only are you good people, but you're good people who have always worked to become better people. That's a pretty rare thing.
