CoD: Black Ops. I had already become fed up with MW2, so why on Earth I went out to buy the sequel still astounds me to this day. However, MW3 is beginning to look appealing, but we'll have to see where the funds are come November :P
I'm actually about to begin my college career at RIT where I'll be studying Game Design and Development, so naturally my choice was a "Fuck Yes" haha. I'll be going in on the programming side of things, so I'll likely be working on engines and stuff, but I enjoy sitting down to code and walking away with something that I only had in my head. And, if the whole game thing doesn't work out well, I can always try to become a software engineer as the toolsets for those jobs are similar in nature. I love games and being able to make them sounds like a dream job, but only if I'm not at some company to makes working on them living hell.
I don't have much advice in terms of graphics cards (just go with one that's in your price range and one that has good reviews), but I'd like to ask what processor you are using. If your processor is too slow, upgrading your GPU won't have a massive effect on performance.
Please, don't "americanize" this game too much... I want pure european rally, not some freestyle talentless BS.
While I too agree that a game centered more on rally would be a better experience (that's the direction they have apparently gone with this title, regardless of all of these pre-release videos), Gymkhana is by no means talentless. I would actually argue that it takes more talent to control a car in the tight environment of a Gymkhana course than it does to drive a rally course (however, not much more, and don't take that comparison too heavily as the two require different sets of skills).
And, that's the final straw Activision. If you really think pushing 5 (read, FIVE) studios to develop CoD games while scrapping every other title/studio in your production pipeline is a good idea, then so be it. I'm done with your mediocre games. (Though I am very excited to see what Bungie is working on, only because Bungie is not owned or part of Activision) CoD has done nothing but soil the shooter genre, and made releases in the genre dull and repetitive. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go play Two Worlds II, a game that deserves my attention.
I absolutely love this game! Baring some connection issues I've been having (I had over 38 kills and the game disconnected me after the host left), this game is easily my favorite in this year's SoA. And I too, from the pre-E3 and E3 coverage, thought that this game looked like the weakest title in SoA.
This should be an instant purchase to anybody who enjoys RPGs, Puzzle games, or loot. This game expands upon the base that its predecessor laid down, and only manages to improve upon it. From a change in the structure of how you navigate the world, to some tweaks in how you level up, this game is a must buy.
