Well...

Haven't checked on this in over a year, as expect. Came back after viewing the Sonic 4 playthrough. I did play the demo and wasn't enthralled by it. I had to agree with the idea that a Sonic game is nothing to get excited about anymore- 10 years of crappy releases is going to do that for a series, hence why no one talks about Spyro or Crash Bandicoot anymore. I didn't hate the game, but rather there was nothing there that made me think that it was worth fifteen bucks for, especially after finding out there were only 4 zones- sounds like something you can play through in a day. I was planning on getting it but I'm just gonna pass- there's enough games coming out this month that I would rather spend money on...Fable 3 and Fallout, anyone?

Hmm, guess it's time to make the first post of hopefully...a few. I tend to join these sites then forget about them, but who knows- maybe this one'll stick.

2008 has come and gone and it's been a great year for gaming. Honestly it's really great to see such quality titles released these last twelve months from all three systems. The Wii had a great release with Brawl (though honestly it should have come out in 07...the constant delays were killing me!), the 360 had great games like Fable 2, while the PS3 had a nice hit on it's hands with LittleBigPlanet. Then of course you had the multiplatforming titles like Fallout 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV. In the end, no matter what system you've alligned yourself with, you had to be a happy camper at the end of the day with the steady stream of excellent games.

Hopefully 2009 will be just as big as 2008 was. We have some cool downloadable content coming within these next few months for Fallout  and GTAIV,  along with games like Street Fighter IV, and...well...others. I'm looking forward to playing Tekken 6 and the Final Fantasy XII games as well, but who knows if they'll make it out this decade. There are also many Xbox Live Arcade, Wiiware/Virtual Console and Playstation Network titles to look forward to as well. So yeah, 2009 can't be that bad. Sure, the casual gaming market is growing steadier and stronger throughout these months but there's still a place for hardcore gamers obviously...just look in the sales :)

It's sad to hear about the death of EGM. As a reader of the magazine since 1997 and a subscriber since 2001 it's sad to see such an established and highly regarded magazine go without even a goodbye. I'll admit that I haven't been as enthusiastic as I used to be when I got an issue in the mail...the recent change in head editors of the magainze and the changes that came with that turned me off. It was still a good magazine, it's just that there were just too many changes at once and it bothered me. But nonetheless, it was a good magazine to read every month. I have a HUGE stack of magazines going back from 1998 and most of them are EGM's....maybe it's a good thing it's going out of publication, the box I keep all of my magazines in probally can't handle any more of them! lol.

I think that's it for now. Hopefully i'll update this again in the future.
