Jeff might be using the same gun I am, but there's an iconic pistol you can craft that basically has an +80% crit chance and +170% crit damage with a base of about 1800. One shot before you have to reload, but that doesn't matter; you're a murder machine. Keep in mind I crafted mine at level 35, so at this point in the game I don't have to really worry about my damage scaling from crafting or loot. It seems like I've reached the world's ceiling. But, yeah, there's a prolonged stage before you feel any sort of power trip and I've found the gun to be more satisfying in the sense that it ends quests faster.
Cyberpunk has that persistent feeling I get in some games where it just feels like a collection of parts rather than a finished product. Like a bunch of talented and hard working people dumped tons of time and energy into creating assets, tuning the feel of something, or working on some sub-system and then just tossed it over a wall for someone else to worry about. I can't put my finger on it, but there's not one particular piece that feels polished enough to cover up the flaws of anything else. Or maybe it's just what happens when ambition meets hard reality, deadlines, budgets, and the need to support 5 platforms.
Regardless, if this was someone's first experience with a CDPR game, I wouldn't be surprised if they said "fuck this" and never bought another game from the studio. It's not a particularly amazing game on its own, it doesn't run that well, and it must look and run like dogshit on the previous generation of consoles.
I used to play games with someone who absolutely hated platforming in first-person shooters. Watching this makes me think someone heard one of his insufferable rants and then decided to make an entire game to spite him.
