Oh, and I know I said this on Twitter, Dan, but the bit where it goes to the wider shot and it's the silhouette of you hugging your dad in the doorway is legit beautiful, both in sentiment and shot composition. You can make all the noise you want about slacking your way through film studies, but I see you.

"You can't see a pudding without yelling 'pudding'."

It's kind of like Cake Factory, that way.

On the Treasure tip, though, next Mega Drive stream I would love to see some Alien Soldier. That game is goddamn ridiculous and awesome and ridiculous.

EDIT: Man, I'd forgotten that Dynamite Headdy song sounds so much "Norwegian Wood" at the start there.

I love that Jeff's saying he's glad to be away from Metal Gear Survive, and then the first game he plays flat out says "GOODLUCK".

At 47:30 Jeff's enthusiasm for USB couch is so intense that it fucked up my video.

There was a period about 10 years ago when I decided I wanted to master Hard Corps, and I used to be able to get up to Noiman without dying. I can't remember why I stopped trying to get good but I feel it's time for me to get back to it.

The Surge was my fourth favourite game last year (although I never got around to formalising my list here on Giant Bomb). I fucking loved this game so much. I always like Souls-likes, and although this one's not perfect, the uniquely sci-fi B-game atmosphere really did it for me, which is why it's weird I didn't even know this DLC existed. Bet your butt I'll be looking into downloading it tomorrow, though (just got back from the pub, so it mayyy not be the best time to try to tackle it). Thanks for the heads up, Brad!

Oh, and normally I'm with Jeff on the whole weapons-that-do-less-damage-but-are-fucking-fast-so-yes-please thing, but the large, lumbering blade from the first boss that Brad's sporting here was the weapon I used for nearly all of my time on the way to the Platinum. Once you lock into the cadence of the game's combat and enemy movement, that thing's a beast.

Fuck this game rules.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume Jeff's "watch out for snakes" advice is a sly MST3K reference.
