I love Giant Bomb, but to me Jeff is Giant Bomb. The old school crew had a charm that hasn't been replaced and now without Jeff, to me, this is just another gaming site. I guess I'm done subscribing. Best of luck to you guys.
The comment about coming back to games (around 2:20:00) hits home hard. I go back to games, have no way of easily catching up on all the changes over time. It would be smart for developers to give a summarized history of these things, almost like, "Oh, did you leave around patch 5.3? Then start from here and you can see what we did."
Then again, that would really mean maintaining that. Developers are not fans of maintaining documents. :)
I rarely take the time to comment like this and have been listening to GB since 10 years ago, so I hope this carries some weight.
I think it's pretty unhealthy to have to the filibuster levels of argument as exemplified by Dan in Most Disappointing game. Nobody else felt as strongly about Red Dead 2 being on there except Dan: nobody who agreed with him except Vinny said a word about it, 4 on the staff strongly apposed that decision, and more people felt they were strongly disappointed by A Way Out and Fallout 76. Each year it feels like the group is susceptible to long winded arguments by a solo person. I wish I had a suggestion to fix it, but it sucks listening to it and to see people go away from a list that bummed because of it. I think Vinny summed up the issue I have before a decision was made: Folks are sitting at about a <insert # less than 10> and Dan is sitting at a 10 in disappointment.
Really missed them talking about games, especially what was present at PAX. By around the GB panel, you feel you've seen everything, and then they discuss a bunch of stuff you missed.
While normally this was the highlight of PAX, this was a big let down. I'm glad they're doing their own thing, but it's going to miss time to time.
