My first play through was as dwarf warrior took me 88 hours, did all companion quests and got the side quest achievement. My second time i was a mage took me 34 hours and rushed the dialogs and just focused on the main quests and the morrigan quest. I just finished my third time, took me 65 hours as a mage and its was a nice play trough did a lot of quests but rushed the dialogs.
I get the same kind of BS comment from people who know sh!!!T about video games, but since i live in my third world "slice of heaven" called Mexico (were many families live with $300 dollars a month) and i own a PS3 a Xbox 360 and my game dedicated PC , and many games i buy carry a price tag of $70 dollars or more (and i buy 3 or 4 games a month) and add this $60 per internet broadband, here in Mexico playing video games is something more of a high economic status (and im glad my hard earned money can get me that) so when i tell people what i spend in games they no longer consider it a kids only thing.
Dont worry i understand, my second time i played as mage and it felt harder at the very beging, but once you get the "cone of cold"+"stone fist"="shatter" and the arcane mage stuff that lets you wear armor, game even gets kind of boring.
My very humble mexican advice comes from my 3 times i played trough the game, im no expert and i . 1.- Go to the circle of mages before going to Redcliffe or anywhere else its kind of the next location to go after Lothering. If you go to other places game may be "too difficult". 2.- Dont kill Wynne in the tower, believe me game with no healer is really hard. 3.- Game gets easier using a 2 mages in party. I personally use wynne as healer and morrigan for attack spells and sten/myself as a tank. 4.- The cone of cold spell is overpowered (it really need to be nerfed). USE IT, i have my 2 mages with cone of cold, so i always have the enemy frozen and under attack from my tanks or better after getting frozen try the stone fist to shatter(shatter=instant kill) enemy. 5.- If you are warrior the Reaver spec may seem attractive, but for your first time i feel it kind a breaks the plot ( just my humble my opinion). 6.- Try the dragon age wiki!!!!
Halo, and to be fair CoD, the first time i played both of this games i could not understand why everyone was saying halo was "inovative" or call of duty was "groundbreaking",but then i kind a undertsand, when PC gamers have already enjoyed with quake, unreal tournament, half life, counterstrike (to name a few). Very few console boys played goldeneye on N64 (or any other good FPS on console) so the first time they saw Halo or CoD they felt a revolution in their heads, a revolution PC gamers and some console players felt ages ago. So when i hear someone is a fan of halo or CoD i inmediatly know he is just a person with less than a decade in gaming and let them be, they will never understand the joy of a counterstrike clan war, or the endless unreal tournament matches, they have already been consumed by the cheap formulas they come to know before really tasting the good stuff. Dont get me wrong, i play CoDMW2 like a freak and really liked the campaing in CoDMW, and also kind a like the multiplayer stuff of halo, but they are totally overrated.
