@tuxfool: In what way is that advocacy considered "extremist"? The carrying notion in this topic is that the scene is unnecessary. The minority of people who disagree are just insufferable Americans pushing their culture on Australia or they are acolytes of Ayn Rand with inferior education.

What are you even talking about? The only thing that is being pushed is the false equivalency your weird mind is creating. People should have the ability to make up their own minds? Guess the Americans are forcing violence onto our children! I guess the Australians really do need their hand held. They certainly can't think for themselves.

I can't help but feel Patrick lost a lot of the personality he brought to the site. Currently, he's a little too preachy for my taste, especially on this site. I come here for entertainment and a deeper cut into actual video games. If I want to read commentary on the social/political aspect of games/gaming culture, I will look somewhere else (usually resulting in a google search and skimming an article or /r/Games). I think Kotaku is the perfect place for what Patrick contributes now. I'm sure there are people that want the kind of op/ed that he brings. Wish him all the best.

I've been playing the Transformers demo, and to be honest, I'm loving it. I think the multiplayer is a blast.
