Guys I love the spooky motif but the PSVR tracking is gonna keep wonking up, you simply can't use orange or blue lights behind the player because those are the colors of the lights that the camera is looking for to track stuff. It's a more different shade of orange than last time, so the hand tracking isn't completely abysmal anymore, and honestly a lot of the problems are on the games end - making you pick up stuff off the floor on PSVR is a no go - but still! You're better off with NO Lights at all behind the player or else the tracking will always wonk out. I recommend green lights if any and have them off to the far side of frame, behind the camera or far outside it's periphery. Maybe really dim lighting like candles. Otherwise you're gonna keep eating flashlights

That aliens game looked a thousand times better after they changed that typo. They weren't paying enough attention, but during the big fight where the aliens were pouring in from outside, it looked way less fucked up than when the aliens were spinning off the cieling in the first hallway sequence. Rorie kept getting flanked as they came from the panels and scurried away, it looked like a totally different game. I'm flabbergasted that a game could change so much thanks to one letter in one .ini file. It's too bad they only started paying attention when rorie got to the turret sequence, they didn't even notice that one alien sneaking past rorie in the grates at 54:34, the one that eventually killed him. they chalked it up to a glitch but that thing totally snuck up on him like they were saying it was capable of doing now. I never played aliens colonial marines, but from these two sequences that was a striking fucking difference. so crazy that they worked on so much AI that never got used.

@dexxfm:

So, I did some "research"...While there is a 'pop yourself' section on the funko pop website, it's just for creating 2D characters / 'avatars'. I searched around, there doesn't seem to be a way to just have them print you a custom one. There's lots of videos about how to make your own, but all involve physically modding a blank one - putting modelling clay on it and painting it and shit. And none of those look nearly as good as this one. So...this thing is a serious fucking work of art. A despicable one, but...alongside the packaging and attention to detail, it probably took WAY TOO MUCH EFFORT.

@thepotatoman:

[ ] Compelling Gameplay

[ ] Universal Motion Comfort Options

Pick one. Initial VR games all being designed around standing still are a large part of why the industry feels all VR games are half baked 'shooting galleries'. I'm all for inclusive design, but we're already targeting a niche of a niche with VR content, and I think it's ok to disregard the comfort of some if it means making a far more compelling experience that drives adoption.

I just picked up a PSVR having played Oculus Rift games on my PC for years. The tracking on those move wands is abysmal. It's still great VR, so I'd recommend it if PC isn't an option, but - swinging them around rapidly and hoping for solid tracking is a recipe for disaster. I hope they work it out for beat saber but I can't see this game working particularly well in this format.
