What gives you that impression? Dan's not exactly normal.
Actually I'm more concerned about Jeff... Giving up one of the greater pleasures in life so easily. So is this food hatred common, or Dan and Jeff are just very special people?
They're polar opposites, aren't they? Dan talks about the food he thinks is the best food in the world. Jeff talks about the food that takes him to a dark place. Jeff has at least tasted enough kinds of food like a normal person to understand why people might consider fast food to be a different kind of substance than not-fast food.
Both are incredibly stubborn. Does it matter if Jeff tasted more different kinds of food, if he said that wouldn't really miss any of them? Dan at least really enjoys his crappy meals. I have a feeling that It's easier to convince Dan about something when it comes to food than Jeff. Dan is talking his stupid shit, but than listens to others and arguments are slowly coming through (remember anime discussion?). Jeff is like "fuck [insert_name_here]" and that's that.
C'Mone Man... They were probably busting their asses of, just to have enough many to raise them. I think this is more like systemic fault, growing nation of embracing Soylent working robots without proper vacation until death. However I agree that not being able to prepare food is a disability. Jeff isn't even trying, he understands that to be good at video games you have to play then repeatedly, so why he expected great meal on the first try? You have to put some effort...
What gives you that impression? Dan's not exactly normal.

Do most Americans hate good quality food? My understanding is that You have some very nice barbecue, but besides that, what the hell is going on out there?
