The Unemployment Games

It's the thing you hope never happens to you. I was laid off from my long term job on January 31. The next day, I decided to finally start on a gaming project I have been wanting to do for a long time; Playing every game in my steam library in alphabetical order.

Over the years of buying bundles and random games during sales, I've racked up a pretty decent backlog and rather than just let these games go unplayed, I figure it would be best to at least give every game a chance. Odds are that I won't play every game to completion. The main point of this is to at least get my hands on each one to figure out what games will be worth seeing through to the end

As my break time in the middle of throwing applications out into the ether, gaming will help me get through this. Best of all, it will help me build my skills in front of the microphone and camera so maybe one day I will be able to work in the career I ultimately want to end up doing.

This is my channel, if you want to follow my path towards employment. Right now I have some old gameplay footage up, am working on uploading the end of my The Walking Dead Season 2 playthrough, and have uploaded two episodes of The Unemployment Games. The plan is to make at least one video a day and will keep playing a game as long as it's still keeping my interest. Hopefully this could lead to something good, but if not, at least it'll be some fun along the way.

Keeping Track of Games I Played in 2016

1) Life Is Strange (2015)

2) Rocket League (2015)

My personal GOTY of 2015. Can't get enough of this fantastic game. It has replaced Binding of Isaac: Rebirth as my go to game.

3) Psychonauts (2005)

This was one of those games that was a pock mark in my history of gaming. I had somehow made it 11 years without ever touching this game in any form. The game is still pretty solid, but MAAAANNN...the Meat Circus blows something hard.

4) Portal Stories: Mel (Story Mode) (2015)

I had already beaten and 100%ed the regular mode when this first released, but then they updated the game with a new achievement and I wasn't just going to stand for that and lose my perfect game.

5) Mind: Path To Thalamus Enhanced Edition (2015)

A puzzle game where the solutions often feel more obtuse than clever. The concept behind the game was pretty interesting, but sometimes the execution of the puzzles feels undercooked.

6) Dying Light (2015)

A good Dead Island from the same devs. Good to know they learned some lessons from the missteps of Dead Island. The parkour seems to function really well. At the time of writing this, I just went through the first night and the night zombies are legitimately intimidating. Adds an extra feeling of dread.
