Really good to see Jeff and Phil in action, it certainly has become one of the highlights every year. The thing that impresses me most is the fact the marketing gets (mostly) stripped back but you can see that Phil is prepared to talk about what he wants then make it happen. They talked a lot about cross-play last year and we're seeing more games do that now. Regardless of which console you prefer, being able to hear more about what goes on in the background from one of the leads in the industry is fascinating.
Big respect to @ben - just picks up the controller, hits a few buttons to test stuff out and then plays Hollow Knight like he's been playing it solidly for the past few weeks. I think he was about 2/3 hits away from winning that fight first time. Great show of skill!
When Jason uses the bow the damage numbers seem really small compared to other weapons. What's the advantage of the bow? Does it have a higher DPS as you can stand there and spam?
@fang273: I was going to make the comparisons with WoW too.
I find it funny that some people are questioning all this time to only move your rating from 270 to 277. You should watch some larger old WoW raids with 25 people where bosses drop about 4 or 5 things that people have to either bid on or roll on! You could spend all that time, be successful but still end up with nothing!
It was the challenge and overcoming it as a team that makes it enjoyable, if it was a cakewalk you wouldn't feel like you've achieved anything
@nickfoley: I noticed that too, i'm sure i've seen him use K&M in other streams. I wonder what made him change and if it puts you at a big disadvantage.
The only things i know about DoTA are it's super toxic to players and it takes a lot of practice and understanding to be able to play it to a decent level when it's not toxic.
I sat down to kill 10 mins with this thing and ended up watching the whole thing. Well done to Ben for making it super understandable and Brad for gracefully taking the feedback even though he already has a lot of time in DoTA. And massive respect to his pub team who all seemed amazingly friendly and co-ordinated it well.
