For some reason Vinny thinks a successful run takes like 40 hours or something. Beating Rogue if everything goes right would take maybe an hour tops. It's 26 levels down and up. Weirdly, it does get easier as you ascend back up to the top of the dungeon so the way back can be a breeze.

I must have played over 1000 runs of Rogue as a kid. Never got much past Level 16 or so. Usually killed by (D)ragons or (T)rolls. I was playing some slightly different version though where (S) was Snake rather than Slime.

I did eventually beat it while at Uni using fun save scumming cheatery. Rogue does have a save system, but it deletes the save when you load it. So it was simple to save->back-up->load, effectively making a quick save.

A better format would be to just like play it for an hour, and use the save system if the run gets interrupted. Otherwise you'll probably just have half of the 13 runs getting killed by an (E)mu on Level 2. Unless it doesn't become a "real" run until Ben gets past say Level 10 or something.
